What have you done to your 1st gen Tundra today?

So why dont all DC's have these fenders? This truck is an '04 and doesnt have any of the DW stuff.

I have a feeling that was a thing through Gulf Southeast Toyota Distributors or whatever. I've only seen one in person and it's license plate sequence wasn't like other Tundras here, as if it wasn't originally sold or registered here.

 

Hell, it's off your record in what 3 years or something? I totaled out my 02 and the cost increase was barely noticeable. I even had a full bedside replaced a year earlier.

 

All depends upon where you live. I don't know about the Chicago area where he resides but in MA due to points you effectively pay 2.5 times your collision and liability for a 4-point major accident.

 

How it's looking with the new springs installed. Still looks like it's squatting a bit. I need to measure from axle to frame.

This is with chrome flares removed and before I cut the fenders. Barely any bulge. I’m wondering if that’s a difference between AC/DC or Limited/SR5 or 1st gen/1.5 gen.

 

its only some(04-06), and they're all DC.

 

Thank you! I am super happy with the black/bronze/gray/yellow scheme that I am ending up with. Just a few more chrome bits to delete.

 

Bronze goes great with all 1GT in white, silver, grey, black. I'm shocked so many people go with gunmetal to black colored wheels, but I guess it'll just make my truck more unique when I'm done. I'm still loving this crude photoshop I did on @FirstGenVol 's truck, to the point I'm strongly considering giving up my OEM 5-spoke splits for it.

Those aren’t the same fender mouldings in the diagram I’m talking about. These are the thin chrome ones. No adhesive.

 

Anyone hear know if the Axle nut size for these trucks is a 35mm or 36mm? Im seeing differing sizes with a google search. Thanks!

35 mm six point will do the job. 176 ft/lbs torque

Also I believe aftermarket axles will be 36, that might be why your seeing differences

 

recently replaced my wheel bearings, it was a 35mm

 

I keep my 35mm socket in my truck tool box just in case. Made more sense there than my garage tool box.

 

I have a 36mm axle nut socket. So I vote 36mm. My aftermarket axles came with new nuts, they are 34mm-ish.

 

That's a good call, I'm finding out that there are a bunch of tools that are slowly making a permanent residence in the back of my truck

I used a 36mm socket on a 35mm nut.

I got bmf's nuts cause we didnt have the right sized sockets. Just reused his old ones.
