I thought I would share some feedback on the Coachbuilder steering kit (Ekstrom Designs)
I'm running a 4.5" BDS lift kit and have always felt the steering was loose and sloppy. The BDS tie rods are absolute garbage. I've replaced 6 of them in the last 2 years.

My truck is not used offroad at all. I go hunting once in the fall, so some dirt roads here and there, but certainly no abuse.
I spoke to BDS about this problem and they had nothing to say. I think BDS should take a close look at the weakest link in their lift kits. It's not only a terrible tie rod, it's quite frankly unacceptable to put out such a flawed product in my opinion.. 6 Tie rods in 2 years and uneven tire wear because of the product limitations.

After being so frustrated with the BDS tie rods, I caved in and finally decided to try the Coachbuilder steering kit.

To be honest, with the dollar conversion to Canadian and shipping, duties, taxes then installation at a shop and alignment, I'm in close to a grand for tie rods..
HOWEVER, I would do it again in a heartbeat and my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner.

The kit was installed today and the steering feels tight, on point, solid with zero play..
If you've ever owned a BMW, you know how the steering feel tight, this I would say is similar to that, not as stiff, but close.

Support from Ekstrom was also just awesome.

If you're thinking about getting a bulletproof product and tired of uneven tire wear and sloppy steering, I would highly recommend this kit.
*I am not sponsored nor have I received any discount on this at all.. Paid full price, just very happy and my Tundra feels like it should have from the start.

    Cheers

Like and love mine. Sit very close to spring at full lock but no issues so far. Just looks super close.

Been considering a set of these to go with the suspension I'm about to swap on there. Thanks for the review!

So wanted to post an update on this.. It's been just over a year I've had these mounted. I had one fail on me and according to the shop that replaced it, blamed it on the Canadian winters. Lot's of water, slush, salt, sand etc gets behind the rubber boot and the joint fails. I was told to expect to replace this likely every year. Which I am not happy about. The good news is that Coachbuilder did replace the one joint under warranty. So that was great. I'm not impressed finding out that I should expect to have to replace on a yearly basis... Time will tell I guess... I did add additional PTFE grease into the boot to hopefully make them last longer. But wanted to post an update on these. Otherwise, they have been great.
