What home improvement work did you do today?

True, I'd take whatever one you wanted to give me, but as I'll be paying for whatever vehicle I drive, I damn sure will be choosey!

 

The black and green challenger are both Demons and have 808 hp stock from the factory.

 

Yup. I'd be good with the 5.7 RT. Couldn't afford insurance on the crazy ones, nor would I be able to utilize their power.

 

I showed this to my wife, she said not to “go there” with modding the garage. Lol

 

Finished the other upstairs closet…


Except for baseboards and drawer fronts - that’s gonna be next in both closets

 

Looks nice. Now it just needs all the floor space filled with miscellaneous shoes and boxes.

And to think I was going to brag about paying a guy to come to the house to weld my broken mower deck...

Had some Sheetrock installed. They hit a water line with a screw. I found it during my evening inspection. Good crew, honest mistake. It was barely weeping, probably didn’t even notice. I took pictures, took the panel down, cut and repaired the pipe. Sent all the pics to the foreman.

 

No nail plates, what's up with that?

 

Who knows, house was built in the 80’s. Outside of city limits

We bought some of that 0% for 60 months furniture and two of the pieces came in.

Neighbors just happened to have the floor lamps (only one made it into the pic but the other matches) and offered them to me for $20.

 

Continued on my interior painting. Just have the living room and bedrooms left.

 

Is the color ‘city loft’? That’s the only color my wife uses and it looks similar to that

 

It is a Sherwin Williams color called “Wordly Gray”.

 

Bought some Polk speakers for the gym and hung em up. Need to clean up the speaker wire routing though.



Also finally received my
Acoustical foam and movie poster fabrics for my wall frames. Should help with the echos and theater room sound. Here’s one of the BEST movies by the way….

 

@CodyP Pics and/or link of the acoustical foam available? Our bonus area upstairs carries a lot of sound down the stairs and into the hallway. Was considering doing something like that to help deaden it...especially down the stairway

 

Through my research Owens Corning 703 seemed to be the most available and popular one. Cost me $120 shipped for 6-2inch 24x48 panels of the foam. I’m gonna build the frames this week and make up the posters hopefully.

Our landscaping guys had to take a breather as they have other jobs they needed to get on, we’re short some of the paver caps and steps, plus we just asked them to improve the drainage on the south side of the house before completion of the landscape. We’ve been waiting for the builder to,do,something but their promises are not very good. Anyways we got the landscaping guys to give bid on the work and the builder said to go ahead and they will reimburse. Their guys came out and their estimated cost was higher… I was originally just going to run low voltage to my shed, but decided to do one 120 vac line out there. Since there is a delay, I am going to get the line buried before the landscaping guys come back in a week or two.
I already had the landscaping guys put in a 3/4 pipe under the pavers, so after a few hours I got most of the trench dug.
I will have another 4 inches of gravel so the trench will be effectively a foot in depth.

 

Question.
Have to remove French doors in dining room and replacing with sliders most likely. Also have a bathroom remodel coming up.

Do you guys shop online for any of these items or just go to the big box stores like lowes or HD?
Would like to get quality, bang for buck and not break the bank anymore than this economy is lol.

Looking for some advice. I've been noticing the grout on our kitchen backsplash is starting to chip and break and wondered what the recommended fix is? Can I use caulk to seal the bottom where it meets the countertop? Or do I have to learn or pay someone to re-grout the whole thing?
