Got me some Alpharex headlights four months ago and the bulb already went out (is this normal for them to run out so soon?)
and looking for a good set of bulbs.

Use latex gloves when changing bulbs. If you use your fingers, the oil from your skin will make the bulbs burn out fast.

I'll let others suggest replacement bulbs, but my advice would be to use whatever bulbs are easy and inexpensive and then start savings for the Factory LED headlights.

You will need the @iHacker harness for install. Swapping in the factory LEDs is one of the best bang for the buck improvements you can make to your truck. Factory parts, excellent quality and wow what a difference in night driving vs the halogen headlights.

I put Alpharex Pros in my gen.2 and tried numerous LEDs in the H7 low beam position.

I could not get a good beam pattern or sufficient lighting to save my life - very disappointing.

I finally threw in the towel on LEDs in the low beam projectors and installed Hella 2.0TB halogens - I liked them enough, but decided for $8 on Amazon to give Hella 70w halogens a try to compare and have decided I like them even better.

The problem with the LEDs in the Alpha Pro projectors seemed to be a combination of color temp and getting the projectors to project. The projectors are designed for halogens and halogens “just work”.

The Alpha Pro built-in LED high beams are great - kinda makes me wish I’d just sprung for the Alpha Luxx or done the Sequoia OEM conversion.

Good luck in your search for LED nirvana - hope you find more success than I did.
