Good news is you can option up all models to include the SR5. There are too many models. A lot of overlap between SR5, limited, platinum, 1794 and capstone. Feels like should be 3 models instead of 5.

I can’t believe Toyota is forcing people to purchase trucks that are not equipped the way they want and making them pay too much. Seriously, this should be illegal.

Well I bet if they sold 1 million tundras annually like the f150, they would see the value for customers to be able to order 100% custom one offs.

Until then they prolly won't since they don't sell nearly as much and then changing all the logistics prolly would make them loose $ on custom units

Maybe true, however Toyota has never tried to sell 1 million. They are content with the market share they have as proven by the fact you can’t custom order. Plus people, will continue to buy their over-priced, under optioned trucks; people like me. SMH.

How did Toyota force you to buy a truck? Was is a gun to the head or more like "here are pictures of your children and the name of the school they attend"? Want to make sure I have a good strategy before I buy my next truck. Thanks!

Im sure it was a combination of the irresistible marketing strategies and clever engineering. Then the salesperson interaction sealed the deal and there was no way to walk away.

It is a base model. The SR is a totally different trim with no standard towing and a weaker powertrain. Also, the XP package is only appearance...

I’m sure you understood this was tongue in cheek. If you want to throw off the salesman for your next purchase, tell them you want to order a 23 Tundra with tow hooks and a V8, because it can’t be a real Tundra without them.

SR5 crewmax is pretty base, dunno if you have been around trucks for awhile or not, the SR is basically the equivalent to the fleet model for all other manufactures, the next trim up is sr5 which is basically the base for consumers, yes consumers can buy SR fleet trim models but majority of people do not and are interested in the SR5, dont believe me - ask the dealerships how they order the trucks.

The SX appearance package - is just a appearance package as well, your trim is SR5 - imo the base entry for consumers, yea every now and then ppl want bare bones, like no power locks/windows SR trim etc - my last CEO ordered a Taco that was super base, and it took forever to come in since they dont produce that trim level very often for dealer consumer orders, basically waited like almost a year since they were made on part of the fleet orders - this was like a 2010 taco
