I have an Icon rear expansion pack that will be installed in the spring. Icon advertises 1.5” rear lift. I’m currently running stock height in rear with Bilstein 5100s to compliment the 1.9” lift and 6112s up front. Bilstein advertises 0-1” lift with that rear shock. Does any one have any experience with 1.5” rear lift and the 5100 shock ?

I run them with 5160’s which have just a tad more travel. I’m also running 6112’s up front at the lowest setting If you are running with an empty bed you will see at least the 1.5” advertised. I have a camper shell and my bed is definitely not empty so the spring pack put it back to about perfect stance for me. Ride is great.

The shock is going to be the limiting factor is suspension droop on a factory suspension and even a factory spring pack with 5100’s. BUT… the brake line is now pretty darn close to becoming the limiting factor with the icons installed if both wheels are droopping. Articulated and it looks fine though I haven’t fully tested that.

I’m not 100% sure what your concerns are but I’m happy with a very similar setup.

The most off roading I do is like fire roads so it won’t ever really be in that situation. I just wasn’t sure if I’d be in a pickle sticking with my 5100s or if I need to buy the 5160s to use with the expansion pack.

I’m going to throw in a set of CB shims on both sides up front so the front will be like 2.4” of lift and the rear at 1.5” so it should leave me around 1” rake when unloaded.

    I appreciate your input.

You should be fine. I think there is only something like .6” or less difference in travel. Unless you are looking for an excuse to step up to 5160’s… in which case the 5100’s just won’t work. At all. They will explode and die an ignominious death.

Excellent. I like it ! I've been saying "I'm done" for a while but I keep ending up with more parts at the front door. Weird.

I just had the icon 1.5 expansion pack installed with the 5100 in the rear. Had a shop do it, they left the top leaf and the overload leaf and placed the expansion back in the middle. I wanted them to leave the whole pack and just add the expansion leaf but that went against icons instructions. I had the same questions about the 5100 not having enough travel. I’ve heard the eibach rear shocks are a bit longer. But I’ll see how the 5100 will do.

Now as far as the front goes, I’m in a dilemma. I’ve posted a message on here but have not been getting any input. 5100 with one2612… have me at 4in of lift and it’s not drivable as is…not sure why they sell this set up if it does not work together

Yea 4” will make you need new UCA’s as well. Anything 3” or higher needs them. 2.5-3” seems to be the sweet spot for front lift on these trucks.

The rear shocks doesn’t provide lift, they are simply stating that the shock is compatible with suspension heights between 0 and 1 inches of lift. The front shocks, OTH, have circlips that can be set in different grooves, moving the coil up higher on the shock and producing lift.
