?

To Overland or Not to Overland

  1. I would like to join an Overland Detachment.

  2. I would like to enjoy trail leader, lead day trip(s) and return back to base camp to sleep.

  3. I would like to explore the trails by me, myself and I.

Based on my count, we have a quorum of 4 people who would like to overland. If there are more people who would like to overland, we will most likely create a secondary/tertiary/quaternary overland groups.

We can work on getting further details about these excursions as the event gets closer and as trail/camping conditions allow.

    SUPER EXCITED about this!

Perhaps I’ll lead a “Fast Fucks Not Given” team.
We’d run further north to hit the triple digit sections and probably extra time at the Cinders. We have enough go fast people for a full detachment just in my normal circle of retards. We might need two groups depending on actual commitments.

That’s a cool route, but for anyone considering it and then continuing south of Crown King to Lake Pleasant, instead of east through Cleator to I17… please please please run the route in the opposite direction they wrote it.

The “Back Way to Crown King” is named that way for a reason. It is not the “Back Way FROM Crown King”. That trail has always been one way south to north, until all the fucking side by sides came out and screwed up traffic.

If you run the BWtCK in a full size, please, I beg you, go south to north.

We did the BWtCK in a 1-ton, 2WD, heavily loaded Ford Van about 15 years ago. My father-in-law though it looked like a nice day trip. I didn't know any better yet. Great drive but it was a very long day. Not a good route for 2, heavily loaded vehicle, 2) 2WD and 3) Ford Van - both the width and length. Made it through though with 1 shredded tire and only 1 pull through a stream bed.

Some details for the Tundras Show n Shine at Dirt Expo at State Farm Stadium this weekend.

It’s open to any Tundra that would like to be on display on the sidewalk in front of the Stadium. If your Tundra is bone stock, beat to hell, a show truck or a daily driver, it’s welcome! Wash it don’t, we want to see it!

Since these trucks will be on display as part of the event, there is a time commitment to participate in the special parking area.

Arrive and be parked before 8am Saturday or Sunday
Cannot pull out of the area until 6pm Saturday (or 4pm on Sunday)

We’ll also try to have an area for Tundras in the parking lot where people can arrive after 8 or leave before 6, but it won’t be up on the sidewalk right in the front.

If you’d like to represent the Tundra community and have your baby on display, show up before 8am and we’ll get you situated in place!

If you can park your truck overnight Friday, we’ll be there setting up inside for the Tundras to Sedona booth, and can also park trucks outside Friday night.

I think you're supposed to park in the dirt between the trees since it's an offroad show.

alright, looking for serious interested parties in participating in an Overland Detachment for T2S 2023. So far we hcae @Cruzer locked in leading a team, and we need to know how many more are actually committed to overlanding from Tuesday through Friday.

Detachments are limited to 5 trucks each, and each team needs a designated leader. It's not tough to lead, just someone to coordinate communications with your small team.

Sound off here if you're committed to Overland Detachment Teams T2S 2023.

We’d like to get everyone who plans to join an Overland Detachment registered early via email so we can begin coordination of teams and so forth.

please email trails@tundrastosedona.com to get moving on Overland Detachments. This includes folks in @Cruzer group just so we can have a holistic view of everyone participating. thanks!
