hmm pretty sure you are incorrect, this is a full catback system, check the pic from sparkparts.com, its the entire exhaust AFTER the cat, im not talking about a full system with headers and hi-flo cat change out etc.

This is NOT just dual exhaust tips

    It doesn't replace muffler.

Guess nobody has reviews and everyone thinks this is not what Toyota advertises it is.

Please click the link and lookat both pictures before commenting, also looking for reviews, if you dont have any idea what this is, can we stop the confusion?

This is just bent exhaust pipe . No mufflers just bent pipe . The cost proves that even more . On the last Gen tundra the Trd exhaust was $800-$1000 .

huh i dont understand your terminology, what is your interpretation of a muffler?

in my book a exhaust system is composed of

    Header
    Catalytic Converter
    Muffler

This kit is the entire system after catalytic converter

Anybody clicking on the link and looking at the 2 pics? this aint just some 1-2ft bolt on, my guess is 4-6ft of tubing, you cant tell me this is not super cheap at $258 for a full catback system. Catback means everything after the catalytic converter.... which this kit includes.

Confirmation on this. I have it but in black. Adds a little noise due to removal of resonator on stock system. Same muffler

Nobody’s confused except you. You just joined yesterday so settle down a bit. It’s a muffler back exhaust that replaces resonator. There’s been threads on it already and members here with it ( mines in mail now). It does not replace muffler.

Now if a resonator is being removed that might add some to the noise . From the pics I’m seeing this pipe doesn’t replace the muffler . Test drove a couple 3rd gens but the 1794 Iforce I tested last week had this exhaust on it and it sounded decent for a v6 . The others I’ve driven didn’t have this exhaust

    Lots of stuff!
I was looking at this exhaust mod as well. Here is the description I got from Tacoma World.
    Description
Accessorize the all-new 2022 Toyota Tundra with the Toyota TRD exhaust.

    • Stainless Steel or Black Chrome
    • Single Side Dual Exhaust
    • Placement is after the muffler
I am only concerned about droning while cruising but since the muffler is still there, probably no real noise difference.

I had one on the 22 tundra I used to have. It was on about a month before I reinstalled the stock pipe.

For me there was a lot of low end drone. Driving around town drove me nuts.

We've all looked at the picture and some of us already have purchased and installed the system. You retain the OEM muffler and remove the resonator..this is not a full cat back system. You are mistaken...oh and BTW welcome to our forum

I can confirm its just the dual Tailpipe attached to stock OEM Muffler. I put a Dirty Deeds Muffler on my 22 TRD OR. Stock Muffler is in the basement and is exact match to the one on my 23 TRD Pro.

I played with several system combinations on my 4Runner. Exchanged the Y pipe removing the bottom two Cats (4Runners have 4 Cats-two per side with the lower cats integrated into the Y-Pipe) URD 3" Cat-Back, Borla Sport and an Overland. The URD was garbage, too loud and droned through most of the RPM range. The Overland is a nicely build system, started off at a nice sound but then became progressively louder and started droning at 65MPH-70MPH. The Borla was the best, great workmanship and sound.

In the end, it came down to this. The only way to make a V6 sound like a V8 is adding two more cylinders.

Now to my 22 Tundra. Probably the nicest set up of all of the systems. I put a Dirty Deeds Tundra muffler on it with a 12" Vibrant resonator installed between the muffler and Y-Pipe. It sounded very good without any drone.

    But again, it's still a V6.

For the 23 Tundra TRD Pro-at this point will not be changing out the system.

i dunno, this thread also says its a full catback system, i need to see a toyota oem microfiche to determine where the catalytic converters and the muffler actually sits, so people dont like the drone with this on? Not looking to make it a v8 noise, curious if it improve the exhaust note over oem or not,

I must applaud you for not giving up but the first sentence in that thread says it "appears to be" which then if you read the rest of the three pages in said thread you would know you are still incorrect and it is indeed a muffler back system.

To answer your secondary question, exhaust notes are extremely subjective and just cause some people say it sounds terrible you'll need to make that judgement yourself. Always keep in mind the vast majority of people posting are here to complain about something or find an answer to something that is wrong with their truck. That is why most topics seem to be negative.
