Hi guys. I just bought my first tundra a month ago. A 2012 4.6 with 141,000 miles. Not my first Toyota, not my first truck, but it is my first Toyota truck. I cant believe how it still drives like a new car. i love it!

Anyways, The only thing wrong is the parking brake (or emergency brake) doesn't work. I tried the adjustments inside the rotors and under the drivers seat with no luck. A shop said both rear cables are seized, and they cant find them anywhere. I found them on rockauto and ebay, so im thinking they just dont wanna do it. Which brings me here..

I took a look underneath and came up with 2 questions. How is the cable removed from the brake assembly? do the shoes and/or wheel cylinder need to come out? And, does the gas tank need to be removed?

any other advice/input is definitely welcome.. Thank you!

Had mine done. New cables and new calipers. Gas tank didnt get removed. Cables go into brake shoe inside caliper.
