Hi, I have a 2022 Limited and on my iPhone often there will be an increasing delay in the conversation when connected to the truck. Usually after 10 mins or so. It gets to the point where conversation is impossible and I have to reconnect the call. Anyone else having this issue?

That is usually a service carrier/tower issue. I’m not sure it would be something specific to Toyota.

It doesn't happen in any of my other vehicles which is why I believe it has to do with the truck specifically. It's also only on my end which is why I further believe it's related to the truck. If I'm not driving in the truck, and having the call connected through the AV, I've never ever had a similar delay. So, respectfully, I don't think it's a tower issue.

It happens consistently and it slowly builds. I usually ask to call back when the delay is at 10-15 seconds or so because at that point it's ridiculous.

So, again, just curious if anyone else has had something similar going on.

    What phone.

I don’t think this is a common issue or it would’ve been all over the forum by now. if anything the phone capability is vastly improved from my 2018 Tacoma.

I have this constantly on my iPhone on car play. It is the worst freaking thing. Best I’ve found to do is change it to speaker phone. It’s beyond annoying and definitely a Toyota or CarPlay thing!

I definitely have this issue. Everything I do on my phone has a delay. Try watching a YouTube video while connected to CarPlay. The voice is almost never in sync with the video.

I have had this issue with my '20 since I got it. It is a poor implementation of CarPlay in the Entunes software that is the problem. Toyota dealerships blame Apple, and sometimes it does improve for awhile after either an Entunes update or an Apple update, but I don't think it is resolved by any means. This is one of a few reasons I'm going to upgrade my head unit when I find one that has all the features I want.

People have a limit, as i have mine, but i figure i can handle 3-4 bullets before i go down, and thats enough time to get in the car. I travel the same set of routes over and over, i know when the suicide lanes, shoulders, or views show up to pass. And i'm not gonna hold someone up that didnt earn it. But hold the left lane, or jump to the right as im passing, and you lose a point. Phone talking, another point. Phone poking immediate douchebaggery. Yea, i can see you up to 30% tint, and if its too dark AND you deserve it, you've drawn the short stick.

I definitely have this same issue. Created quite a funny situation on our morning conference call when my comment came in when they were already three issues beyond…

Thank you everyone for the replies. As has been stated in the replies, it's beyond frustrating on a work call or whatever else. Please try and remember to bring this up as an issue anytime you're at Toyota service. I assume that's about all that can be done for now. Hopefully this gets sorted soon, but it doesn't sound like it's made it onto Toyota's radar yet.

I have the same issue. Not all the time. Only when I am on the call for an extended time. Conference calls. Great example. Switch to phone speaker and back doesn't always resolve it

I have. All the dealers just blame Apple. It doesn't matter that other CarPlay solutions don't have this issue.

Crappy CrApple Can't play nice with Carplay and you blame your truck?

Any Android users having issues with AA or GA?
    ... Nope

Toyota doesn't give a hoot about Carplay problems, because they're not their problem.

I agree, very difficult to have a decent conversation. Most of the time, I have to take it off CarPlay and use the phone speaker. Hopefully a fix coming soon.
