Had some people ask about how these road.
A little background, the truck wa spurchased with Master Craft Courser AXT's (275/55R20s) which didn't ride terrible but the sidewalls were not in the best shape. One had a chunk missing. So short term I bought a set of 18" steelies Cooper Discoverer SRX's (255/70R18). These rode pretty well but were a bit soft for towing. So I went with the Michelin LTX A/T 2 (LT285/55 R20).

So finally back to the size the TSS package came with.

As for the ride. To start off with they are insanely quiet. They rode fine around town. So this weekend was the first chance to get out on highways. It really was dependent on the road. On a well worn road they hunt the wear grooves a bit. Something I'm used to with the Corvette (275/40ZR-17). GM narrowed the front tires in 93 to address this.

But heading out of Montgomery there seemed to be a vibration in the chassis. Not coming back through the steering. Nothing terrible but you notice it. Then in Columbus GA, where the highway is concrete you noticed the thunmp thump thump from the expansion cuts.

After Columbus, heading towards Warner Robins, There is much less traveled smoother pavement and all the vibration goes away.

So I guess they are a little sensative to pavement quality.

BTW, great work by the guys a Discount Tire in Prattville. They pulled the old wheels from the bed, and had tire swapped in a little over half an hour. They had two guys per side. Also they new about the different lugs between Steels and Aluminum wheels as well as the difference in torgue. I had a box of new lug nuts and they asked about where they were before thye even started. All wheels were tourqued using a torque wrench. In fact an air wrench never went near the truck.
