Hello everyone, I’m fairly new to the forum and new to working on my truck. I have. 06 double cab with upgraded upper control arms and a toyotec lift. In doing that, I seem to have lost the bolt that holds the brake line bracket (might not be correct) to the upper control arm. I looked on the Toyota parts page and found a what I thought was the right part and “verified” by the guy at my local dealership. When I picked up the bolt, it doesn’t look like the other side. The part that was purchased was too thick. Any ideas to what the correct part number is?

For something like this, the right answer might be to pull the one from the other side and take it back to the dealership to let them match it up. With the correct bolt to go by, they ought to be able to fix you up.

I didn't see it in the diagram but you can take it to Lowes to find out the thread size. It looks like a 10mm bolt head and they most likely will have something that will fit.

Brake/Suspension parts page for your truck, ballpark: https://parts.toyota.com/Toyota_2006_Tundra-Double-Cab-Limited-47L-AT-4WD/Brakes-and-Suspension.html

Specifically you'll want to look here, I think, on Brake Tube & Clamp: https://parts.toyota.com/a/Toyota_2...11_6709498/BRAKE-TUBE--CLAMP/841420-4708.html

Click "View Full Size" on the diagram.
Click "View More Images" to see the multitude of diagrams.
Find your bolt in the picture; if the part number is in format XXXXX-XXXXX, that's literally your part number. If it's a shorter, non-hyphenated number, it refers to the parts list on that page.

Should be regular thread m6 bolt (maybe m8 but pretty sure m6) Very common. Grab one from lowes. My truck as a random one on one side with a nut on the back since I assume PO had to drill the remnants of a rusty bolt out. Works just fine though.

It’s definitely an m6. I may have to do that and go to Lowe’s. I’m a very curious person and at this point I’m just trying to find the right part so that I can stop thinking about it.

Thank you. I did and the part number shown in the diagram is what the dealership gave me. I even took the right bolt and they kept insisting that the piece they gave me (based on the part number) was correct even though they saw it clearly was not.

I'll caution you: I've gotten two mis-bagged parts in the last 2 years from dealerships. One was a snap-in piece for tag lights. The other was a splash guard, I ordered one of each, instead of 4 different ones front/rear on left and right, I got 3 different ones and 1 duplicate of those three.

It happens. Toyota doesn't bag up the parts. If you're ever in question, a lot of times you can take the part number to fleaBay and punch it in there to get a pic of it. If you gimme the p/n I can see if I'm able to pull up a picture of the actual part so you can compare.

Part number 90080-11180 is what shows on the diagram is what they gave me (didn’t fit)

Buy a set of thread gauges. They come in handy and aren't very expensive. I have set similar to below. Then, you can go to Lowes, HD, Fastenal, Grainger, or wherever to get your hardware.

That’s the bolt they sold me which did not fit because it was too thick when compared to the original on the driver side. They look similar and even have the cut at the tip. Lol

Dunno what to tell you then. That's super weird.

You never mentioned what your drivetrain is. Are you 4WD or 2WD? Maybe it's a different part for one vs the other?

Could someone have drilled out the side you are trying to replace before and now it's not the right size? Only thing I got.

No, the control arms are after market and the bolt from the driver side fits the passenger side (side that’s missing). The bolts were from the original UCAs.

Thanks. I did find out the bolt is m6-1 based on using the thread gauge at AutoZone. They didn’t have it in stock. I’m planning on going to Lowe’s to get a replacement but I’m also now invested in solving this mystery.

Ace Hardware is king when it comes to good quality fastener selection. If you have one nearby.

They don't own or maintain their bolts displays, but I find they have, hands-down, the best maintained, easy to use fastener selection out of all the chain hardware stores.

Thanks everyone who offered advice or suggestions. I went back to the dealership and coincidentally there was another 1st gen tundra owner. I asked to look at their UCAs which were stock and sure enough the bolts are exactly the same on both sides as the one I have which are not the 90080-11180.I took a picture but not of me taking the bolt out of his (which he let me do) to compare.

The part they gave you is for the brake FLUID line bracket. The part guy looked up the right part for the wrong description. It happens. :notsure:

What you needed was the ABS WIRE bracket bolt. Which I think is 90080-11371.

Yeah that's what I thought he was looking for as well. My truck doesn't have ABS so I had never seen that before.

    1. Take remaining bolt out
    2. Swing by Lowe's
    3. Use their bolt gauge
    4. Purchase similar size/thread bolt
    5. Profit?

I figured it was the wrong part but the dealer guy was adamant. Human error is inevitable. No biggie. Thanks for showing me the correct part number.
