2023 Tundra CrewMax - Predator Steps (Eazy Peazy Installation)

I'm so happy with my new Tundra.

Just purchased the Predator Steps and installed them in under 1 hour.

Very simple (Trust me, I'm not good with these type of things)

Highly Recommend having another person help

Simply unscrew the bolts from the designated positions

Have two people lift the Steps into position and high tighten the bolts in place

Verify Positions and then tighten the bolts

Done!

Those look great installed. Just crawled under my truck after seeing your photos to see if bolts were already there for steps. Nice surprise to find them. Thanks for your photos. Learned something new.

 

Do you stick out beyond anything under the truck? Basically, do they reduce clearance?

 

The clearance is slightly reduced by about an inch or more because the purpose of the step is to be lower than the bottom of the truck for easier entrance. (not trying to sound like a jerk)

 

I have the same steps and would say clearance isn't reduced. They are tucked up enough so the bottom of the step is even with the frame, fuel tank, and all the other crap underneath the truck. I could be wrong, but that's just what I remembered from when I installed them.

 

Without using precision tools and my placement ability of the measuring tape, it's hard to tell with the naked eye. See pic and judge for yourself.

 

Can you take a pic from the side looking underneath the whole truck? So one could see the actual frame of the truck. That's what would be interesting to see if they protruded down further than.

 

Do these steps fit your feet well? Deciding between this and rhino

 

I wear size 10 shoes

 

Oh man I heard complaints about being small but they look like they’ll work great

 

How much were the steps?

 

They're $745 - you can get Rhino Boards that are similar for almost half that.

 

If you have never had them before they take some getting used to…you can’t just ‘step out’ and place your feet without looking for instance or you might get a nasty scrape as my 7 year old can tell you.

…and my size 12’s need to be places at a certain position to gain proper footing (especially in winter /ice and snow /larger boots).

I had GoRhino on my last truck (which I prefer honestly), but these were the most economical of what was out when I bought 1 year ago (~$500) and I’m trying to spend the money on other things right now is the only reason why I haven’t swapped them out for those Rhinos.

 

They were in the range of 300 dollars. I forget exactly, but if you build a toyota on the website and click on the predator steps accessories details, it will show a price. Make sure to mention the price shown from Toyota otherwise the dealership will try to sell it for a more expensive price.

Which rhinos you looking at ? I’ve been looking at the slims due to the fact I probably won’t go too wide with the tires . I don’t want it to look goofy but would appreciate some door protection from the steps being out a little bit

 

I’ve had the regular RB20’s in the past so that’s my preference as I think they will work well with my +12 offset wheels, etc.
The slims might also be an interesting choice and something to look at in indeed
