    I’ve had a Tacoma, 2000 & 2003, Tundra, 2005, Tacoma 2012 and finally Tundra 2013.

Just wanted to get back to a full size truck and have always wanted the 5.7 motor since it first came out.

For a family, the Tundra is so much better. I loved my Tacomas but we outgrew them.

Yea. Had 2 Tacomas. A 99 Xtracab and a 2005 Dcab. Both were great trucks. The 99 got crushed for a bad frame, 2005 I blew the Trans out at 250k miles and sold it as it, since my family was outgrowing it anyway.
I have a 2016 Dcab Tundra now, SR. My only regret is getting a 4.6 liter.

Since I’m driving my tundra pro every day and put over 1000 miles recently have not thought about moving down to a Tacoma Pro. Driving 7 days a week with it will add up the miles. Don’t really care. I do care I’m enjoying driving it a lot. Never thought the wife would like it so much. Everytime we take a road trip she says are we taking the truck. She likes how big it is around her and so do I. It’s like a big tank. Lol.

I had to sell my taco cause the seats were making my lower back problems worse - had that not been the case, I honestly would still be driving it today (as it was going to be the "kids truck" in a few years). other than that - only two things I regret: 1) that I didn't get the Tundra in the first place; 2) that I didn't spend the extra on a plat when I could have.

To me. The Tundra interior is 4x as spacious. In the tacoma the seating position is weird and the dash feels like it's exploding out towards your knees.
Tundra almost feels like a luxury car. Just in comfort it's way worth it. And then the power. Then the size.

Taco is cool. But the Tundra is way more truck.

Had an 08 Tacoma TRD 6 spd Manual. Loved it. Owned for 10 years. Put 100k miles on it. Sold it, and regret selling only because I miss the hell out of it and want to keep them all.

Bought the 2017 Tundra Limited. It was supposed to be the “do it all” adventure rig, tow the travel trailer, haul the kids/dogs/bikes to the beach/mountains/park and also be a capable wheeler for moderate trails.

That plan when out the window when I got it on a tight trail and realized how much bigger it is than the taco. Plus it’s hella nice and I don’t want to beat it up. Sooo… I bought a FJ80 to build into the wheeling rig :)

Still miss the taco tho. Tundra is more fun to drive around town, but miss having a stick, plus the Taco was a beast off-road. I sold it to a friend tho, so maybe I get it back one day.

Tacoma to Tundra here as well. Really liked the Tacoma and it was my first new vehicle purchase but ran out of space for the wife and pups. Love the Tundra, would never go back.

3 things I miss about the Tacoma are MPGs, locker and off road capabilities. While MPGs were only 3 to 4 higher it still made a difference when commuting 60 miles round trip. Commuting is no longer a concern. I was scouting hunting spots one day and put the Taco in a hole. Roads where I was hunting are nasty black clay and slick as greased owl hockey. Mud to the door and in 4hi I could only go back and forth about 20 yards. I would have had to climb out the passenger side. Put it in low and hit the locker and the gas and came right out. If I had been in the Tundra I would have been walking.

    That’s me.

    Did not think it through.

Love the power and luxury of the 2021 Tundra, but it’s terrible off road.

Long, low and scraping everywhere I go.

Won’t even bother trying to mod it.

Will be going back to a taco one day.

It happens…and I’ve done it myself.

My lady gave me some good advice about 7 years ago. I would keep vehicles for around 2-3 years max. There was always something that I settled on and didn’t get exactly what I wanted (color/features/intended use/etc). When we decided to sell the 2012 Tundra and go back to a HD truck, she said “this time, please do not look at the cost of the truck first. I would like for you to research all the options you want, then go find that truck. Work on the price from there. Then you will be totally happy with your purchase.”

You know what? She was right. In a couple days (Nov 5th) I purchased my truck 6 years ago and haven’t even considered selling it and getting something else. In fact we may have this truck for another 4-6 years.

3 Tacos here. The latest was a 20 limited. Loaded, every bell and whistle. Loved it. Then I acquired a 4400 lbs travel trailer. It burned the gas and it wasn't pulling it to my liking. So I got a 21 Tundra on the covid trade in deal for little more cash and Im set now. Love the Tundra, miss all the options, but its so nice pulling and my wife always begs to drive it, so its a keeper.

After a lifetime of owning Toyo mini trucks (the first being a ‘76 SR5), in 2012 I traded the only brand new vehicle I ever bought for myself, my ‘07 Tacoma, for my ‘05 SR5 TRD AC (with 100k on the odometer, and have not regretted it even once. The Taco had 60k.

Just minor stuff. For example, Undercover bed cover, Tufskinz custom door sill protectors, and TRD air filters.
I had a 2016 TRD Sport 6 speed manual. I traded for a 2022 Tundra TRD Limited OR 4X4. I really have no regrets. It has plenty of power and room, rides great and I love the heated seats, steering wheel and extra space/storage. I also love the PV camera system. It is awesome! I do miss my Taco at times because it could be driven like a sports car and I loved the manual shift, TRD CAI and CatBack. All that said, I love the Tundra and have no regrets.

I drove Tacomas for 11 years when I switched to a Tundra. Been driving a Tundra for over 4 years now. Incredibly happy with the decision, could never go back to a Tacoma as my only truck, and frankly don't know how I did it all those years now.

Had Tacomas years ago and switched to 4runner Pro. 2 of them. Then traded my 20 AG in on my tundra Pro. I do miss my 4runner but love my tundra. Sometimes I think about going back to the 4runner but I feel I will regret giving up the truck and the sound of this V8.

It's about getting the right tool for the job. Loved both my Tacomas but we decided to buy an RV and a midsize truck wouldn't cut it.

So I don't regret the Tundra but I'll go back to a midsize when we no longer have the RV because it fits better with most everything else I use a truck for. We're even thinking hard about a motor home.

I bought a 2012 Tacoma as my first vehicle and love that truck to death but it didn't live up to the tow ratings. I upgraded everything except throwing on a SC.
I bought a lightweight aluminum trailer enclosed that fell well within the weight ratings and the truck fell on it's face. Not to mention the constant fuel stops.
I was at the mercy of traffic to let me in on on ramps and got passed religiously on hills 10 mph under posted speed limit cause the truck was at WOT and was gutless towing above 60mph.
Its a great round town trail rig but it isn't a tow truck.
I bought a 2018 Tundra and have no regrets. I was able to keep both trucks and what surprises me the most is the Tundra gets better highway MPG. Its marginal but still repeatable.
That's surprising for the extra size, +2k lbs, and +2ft of extra length. Granted that's stock tires no lift on the Tundra vs 32s on a 2.5in lifted on Tacoma.
Both trucks have a purpose but they aren't the same. If my 2012 Tacoma wasn't in a severe crash that ruined the re-sale i would probably only be in a tundra.
Would i miss the Convenience of the Tacoma sure, but the gained capability and range with the 38 gal tank is worth the sacrifice on size ad convenience for me.

2017 Tacoma TRD OR to 2021 Tundra TSS, and while I do miss the Taco and the Softopper I had on it, I don't regret getting the Tundra. I love the drive and power, and space for our three boys.
