    You just wait
That's why I now drive an hour one way to get my tires mounted. It's a discount tire and they actually know what they're doing and take pride in their job. They even use torque wrenches on the lug nuts!

My extended family was die hard Les Schwab growing up in this area and I adopted this as well. However after several negative interactions sought out alternatives and started going to Discount Tire as well. The whole process is much faster and more transparent (appointments, online ordering/specs, more efficient process). I much rather like the local option but they just seem to have lost their way/not adjusted to technology. They did scratch my rims once but it was my fault as the clear coat hadn’t cured yet, they offered to fix to make whole.

I switched from Les Schwab to Discount Tire and have had no issues. The Les Schwab locations I went to don't seem to like torque wrenches. However, I still go there for chains.

Speaking of les schwab... I installed my front suspension on Sunday and found 2 of the 4 nuts for the top of the drivers side coilovers basically a few threads from coming off.
My step-dad took the truck to them 25k miles ago to get new shocks. This is why i have trust issues.

Whats up dudes! Installed my front suspension on Sunday finally.
But now I have a saggy ass and this lift makes my tires look small *pun intended*

So now its time to fix the rear suspension, but being new to the Tundra I need some advice.
I like a little bit of rake to account for the trailer, and the only constant weight in the back in the canopy.
It's not going to see any major off-roading (thats what the tacoma is for lol) so it'll be daily driver, grocery getter, school bus, etc.

I'm thinking some new leaf springs, coachbuilder shackles (maybe +2"?) firestone airbags with the cradles.
Rear shocks are Fox 2.0 Performance Series, Remote Resi, 9.6", 0-1" lift (Am I going to need different shocks? since these say they're for 0-1" of lift)

Yeah man! I saw the receipt for 4 new shocks, and these were the gas-a-just ones, which are basically the cheapest shocks you can get, and it was like $800! Tire shop should stick to wheels and tires. But I used to work at Discount Tire in HS so I already have a mild hate for les schwab lol

That last pic, looks straight silly!!!

I say if you're going to tow, airbags are nice because it gives you some adjustability. If not, springs/shackles seem to be what most guys run!

I installed the Roadmaster HD system and got about 2” of lift when set at the higher tension. They are pretty amazing and beat airbags hands-down. There are a few threads on the forum talking ‘em up.

Everyone who says they have the RAS system loves it. I kinda want to give it a go, sounds like I can't go wrong. Is that all you did to the rear?

    Wow, unacceptable.
That's why I don't go there, the latest example was my dad's rear shock lower bolts that were hand tight at best.

Damn dude, that's a bad one too. Yup, there's countless stories out there.
I literally just remembered this terrible story that one of my fraternity brothers told me when we were in college, about his little brother.
He was a big baseball recruit and was on his way back from a tournament with a friend. A few weeks before he had a lift, new wheels and tires installed at les schwab. Well on their way back the tire blew out or came off the truck on the freeway, truck rolled, and my friends little brother and his brothers friend died. That was a sobering story when he told me that.

    I found the article.

Yep that is it. I have maybe 200lbs of gear in the back, including my Diamondback cover. I needed something to help with the sag when hauling my pin-heavy travel trailer and a load of camping gear. Didn’t like airbags on my last truck so gave the RAS a shot. So far very happy with my choice.

Just re-checked my notes. Looks like the rear settled about 0.5” after the summer hauling, so I’m down to around 1.5” of lift.

Yeah absolutely. Some stories just stick with you for years, and that was one of them. Subconsciously, it probably has something to do with my need to check tire psi and torque my lug nuts routinely.

    Update time.

So they flat out said my only recourse at this time was to have them repaired through Wheel Kraft in the Couv. It was to be a 1 day mobile job but they (WK) decided it was best to have 2 days in the shop. So, I have a set of other wheels on while they are worked on early next week.

Lots of minutiae I am leaving out, but that’s the gist.

Will update when I have the wheels back.

    Edit: Love the tires.

Been lurking but work’s been a straight up mother f*cker lately
Good to see everyone is kicking

@Green Thunder - I got notice of the P&S Black Friday “sale” but it wasn’t much to bother with - free grill cover and free upgrade to the trapdoor grease plate (which I took out of mine after a few weeks and went with just the standard one). Hope you’re able to swing that beast at some point!

I got pretty excited when I saw that email. Was hoping for free shipping…or at least a big credit towards shipping. I have no need for the cover or trap door so the sale is a turd for me.

Reading the biggest sales might be after the new year if this market really crashes so holding fast for now. Just hope my GMG starts tomorrow!

Anyone been looking at the Ironman front bumper, it is 45% off right now. Can get it loaded with their LEDs for $1,200!

Damn! Such a good deal. Trying to figure out if it is compatible with the TRD skid plate though.

I’ve wondered that too. Hard to tell for sure but when I look under the truck it seems like there is a lot of room forward of the skid plate. Plus neither system needs the other for mounting.

From what I’ve seen of the bumper, I can’t see where it wouldn’t be. A buddy at work had one - nice looking setup

Just saw the snow warning for the Seattle and Portland area. Great reminder that I needed to air down my tires from summer pressures, check the oil and fill the washer reservoir.

    Bring it… I’m ready

I’m still leaning towards the hidden system anyway. Love the cleaner look. The Warn winch I want is almost at my “buy now” price on Amazon.

I really like the stealth/hybrid setup. Sure - not any real protection for the corners, but a stable winch mount and an easy spot for some extra lighting.
