Was hoping somebody could help me out with the info that is listed on the Buy a Toyota website. I have been constantly checking the tundra inventory that is provided. My question is, are these vehicles listed in inventory already pre-sold units, or are they currently available?? The salesman at my dealership tells me that all vehicles listed on this website are already sold!! If they are already sold, then why does Toyota list them as inventory??? Have these tundras already been allocated first and are now sitting in inventory?? Just need someone to clarify what this website's actual purpose is!!! Thanks.

depends on the dealer perhaps but generally customer ordered units will show up on websites but the dealer could also have units available (not orders). The inventory, web additions, etc all all automated....stock shows on websites once the unit is accepted/PDI'd into that dealers inventory.

Same thing happens in the boating world. Most of the inventory and website listings are automated, stock shows up, gets entered into the dealers location and inventory and it shows on websites as well, even if it was a customer order and basically is sold. But deals fall through, so some of those units do in fact become available for purchase.

My advice would be to google dealers that you may be interested in purchasing from and look at their respective websites. You may also need to make some calls to them to confirm what stock is available and what is sold already. You have to do some leg work these days to find what you want at a price you are willing to pay.

Lastly, sites like cargurus will let you search make/model by zip and you can look at both new and used units. It can be a helpful tool to find what you want.
