Cut the dash and glass glare out of that pic and it looks like a cloudy night. I scrolled into it slow and thought that's what it was at first...

We all have our days. You took a month off from shenanigans, so it'll take a minute to get back into things.

Technically we are directed to be in the office four days per week, but we only go in Tue-Wed-Thus. The main group we support is the same, but they have two different offices so us being at our desks isn’t very important. I’ve gone in on Mon and Fri and you can almost hear crickets.

We will likely be forced back to five days by January…which means we’ll do four days.

Does that mean you can shut the home work computer down for good? That would be the silver lining.

When I'm tired of my rotating shift I'll likely go to 4-10's. 5-8's is a hard pass for me

I love working from home. Saves a lot of time, gas and stress. There are benefits to being in the office but they are all negligible over being at home. Pretty sure my wife is going to take over my “office” soon, so that might be the catalyst for me going to the office. I cannot work without two monitors.

I tried a 4x10 schedule years ago and didn’t like it. As much as commuting five days a week sucks, I’d add probably 30 minutes to my commute if I waited two more hours to go home.

Traffic is worse now that pre-covid. Everyone is back on the road but people are still trying to drive 80mph. Even at 5:30 am. And this area is the leader in the “Turn right from the left hand turn lane” olympics. No joke…see that almost daily.
Yep. I’ll need you to vouch for me when we move that direction. Share the passcode or whatever

Yep. 100%. Stress from other drivers in our weather, traffic watching everyone around me, and time. I also love the flexibility to help my wife if needed (who also works from home).

I guess I'm spoiled. Cows getting moved is the worst traffic we have, and I have less than 10 miles to commute. I'll keep work at work. I like the separation.

My problem with working from home is that I can't put it away. I'll work 14-16 hours from the house if not interrupted.

I've got a 30-minute commute but Bighorn sheep on the highway are about the only thing that slow my drive up. :D

I think part of the issue is that I’m so fucking productive without interruptions, I feel like I’m actually getting caught up and don’t want to stop

My office is probably 25 mins from me, on a clear day with no weather / traffic. I’m rarely ever there. I just don’t see a need for it as much. I’ll talk to my managers and the day will fly by

Same and I love it but my phone will go off from calls and texts all day. I don’t need any other interruptions from co-workers in person.

My commute is 30 miles. Can't imagine how tired I'd be if I didn't work from home 4 days a week.

I've had a 30 minute commute before, but I love driving. I'd take different routes home for variety and use the time to decompress.

30 miles /= 30 minutes for most people.
Mine is 27 miles door to door… 40 minutes on a good day (9 miles is winding out of the hills to the highway). ~60 on a shitty day

Mine was in SLC. Surface streets and highway. I'd usually bump over to the fashion place mall and play Soul Calibur 2 in the arcade for a bit to let traffic dwindle after work. Was a young kid, so I had more patience.

I was exaggerating my sub 10 mile commute earlier. It's actually about 3 miles. I know this plays a huge part in my aversion to working from home. Especially working 12 hour shifts.
