I called my dealer to schedule an appt to have the Westcott kit installed on my 22 Platinum Hybrid. They told me they won't install it because the increased ride height will interfere with the camera in the windshield and the grill and the safety sense features making it a safety liability. This can't be true can it? Has anyone else had this kit installed by a dealer?

I'm sorry but your dealer is either one of two things:
    1. Dumb
    2. So risk adverse they're losing business
Either way...find another dealer / installer.

If that were true, Toyota wouldn't sell an OEM 3" TRD lift kit. There's a whole procedure for recalibrating the safety sense system (including the LTA sensor) on lifted vehicles. You can recalibrate the system to accommodate lifts up to 4". That is the max lift amount the system can handle & be recalibrated to. After 4" of lift, Toyota recommends simply disabling the system.

Dont go to the dealer for suspension mods. Not competent in that area, overpriced.

Plenty run that kit with no issues. Just look around for a local 4wd shop or a front end shop. Probably cost half what the dealer would charge.

That's what I thought. This is what they told me: "after installation the calibration for the windshield camera and the grille radar sensor likley will not calibrate for the new height and because of that the dealership does not want to own the fact that the designed saftey sense function will not operate when it leaves the dealership" then they told me that Toyota offers a TRD lift kit which they said they would install...makes no sense. Not to mention the TRD lift kit isn't compatible with AVS/air trucks. SMH

Sounds like they're just trying to scare you and get you to spend $3k on a lift vs $500.

On page 79 of the install instructions for the TRD lift, it has a table of various measurements of different lift height & tire size combos to assist in recalibrating the TSS system. Recalibrating the TSS is 100% lift agnostic. The recalibrated TSS doesn't care if you get your 3" of lift from Westcott, Toyota TRD, King, etc. As long as your lift is less than 4", then it can be recalibrated to function as intended.

That being said...I have not seen any issues with mine on my 2" lift. I have not had mine recalibrated. The radar, LTA system, and PCS all still function as normal. We'll see how it performs when I put my Icon setup on next week and go up to a full 3", but none of the folks who've gone to that height have reported any issues.

No issues on my current 3/1 Westcott either (not recalibrated)

…and it’s been activated at least twice due to a few knucklehead in the road so it works perfectly.

I have the Westcott 3/1 also, 10,000 miles on my 2022 Tundra Crewmax Limited TRD Off Road with 295/65R20 Toyo Open Country AT3's and I'm having VSC issues even on dry pavement. The VSC kicks in on at 20-25MPH on right hand freeway entrances. TPMS sensors are good, running 35 PSI on the rear tires. Very confused why the VSC is kicking in on slower turns, especially if the freeway entrance is slightly banked.

Has anyone else had VSC issues? Curious if I get the TSS recalibrated if that will possibly help?
