The brat is a brat body on a C5 chassis. Built by the same people that build pastrami' gymkanna cars.

I wouldn't say it if it weren't true, tumbleweave is a legit thing here. So are random chicken bones in the strangest of places. As a lover of chicken wings, I get that, but also trying to figure out who'd eat wings while driving and chuck the bones out the window. As a bald guy, I can't relate to the weave/tract thing, but have plenty of friends who have weaves, extensions, tracts, even they joke about it.

20 years here now, and these little quirks have grown on me some, but it doesn't feel any less bizarre to recount today than it was the first year I arrived. Beats living in Floridistan still, though. We have some crazies in ATL, but the saturation is much lower.

We had to do a landscape plan.

I really would rather a half circle driveway but I didn’t even suggest that possibility.

I like it. Needs formed concrete to allow lower cars through. And if your front faces north, build a carport.

Driveway faces south so without the tree we'll get a bit more sun which is nice. But, yeah, shop on the R side is needed. And the driveway sucks.

Crazy part is, the framerails don't look bad through the rear wheel well. Looks like this one bent in half around the rear edge of where the frame stiffeners are.

It looks like one that got the Toyota spray special and then rusted from the inside out.

that sucks. Typically you only make that mistake once.
I bought a car from Long Island, NY and drove it back home to Idaho. Took it to a shop for something and they wouldn't touch it cause of the bad rust. They brought me out to look at it and my jaw dropped. Sucks when you really can't just replace the rusty parts and EVERY TIME you go to work on it you know it's gonna be a bear and you're probably gonna break parts due to the rust.

disappointing. Graphiti & trash. banged up old car bits too. But if driving by I'd stop. Actually, I did.

Not surprised. That's one thing the pandemic has left us with: 1-2 years of absolutely horrendous quality control, products that were cobbled together with whatever parts and experience were on-hand, and major shortages of expertise of logistics throughout the supply chain. I experienced the latter a lot while trying to suffer through our remodel. Ordering parts, getting them complete and intact, and on-time ... it's impossible.

I've told friends and family time and time again DO NOT buy any vehicles manufactured when the pandemic was in full swing. Seems like a lot of OEMs reliability rates are taking a hit right now with reporting agencies. Sadly, my parents just picked up a 2023 Corolla SE. I'm really hoping Toyota has made it past all the bullshit at this point.

The fly over states are BOOOOring if you're trying to get through them. But if you slow down they can be interesting, but gotta get off the hwy.
i liked those ghost town in the hills sorta places.
The long stretches through the desert I love. Kinda scary knowing how quickly things could go mega deadly, but always made it through without issue.
Spent a week in Amarillo, don't recall seeing any tumble weeds. Vegas i saw tumbleweed. And big furry spiders under rocks.
Arizona (or NM?) had some amazing desert flowers.
Carlsbad Caverns & the bats at dusk.
    Niagra Falls, Grand Canyon.
Nova Scotia is beautiful... and a little sad.
St. Johns, Newfoundland & Labrador - seemed like a good place to wander in a van.
The causeways to Key West (thump, thump, thump) are a nice drive with random pull off to a spit of beach & all that beautiful blue water.
    FL's Armadillos are cool.
NYC has become routine. At this point it's a go see the holiday lights. Still haven't gotten my ass up the Statue of liberty.
Stuff that's close always gets pushed off - "it'll be there tomorrow".

It's all pretty interesting if you can appreciate the journey.
When you're goal oriented - getting to X - the stuff in the way becomes invisible or boring. Gotta see stuff for what it is, that's harder.

Aligned this guys truck three times today and after each time it had an aggressive pull to the right. Finally rotated the tires and the pull was gone. Aggravating but I learned something. Guy has good choice in his wheel/tire combo! Bronze SCS stealth 6’s wrapped in Falcon wildpeaks!
