    Hello everyone,
Sad news here in Portland, Oregon. Someone broke into my truck and tossed it looking for things. Given the state of our city, i don't keep much in my truck I'm not willing to lose...however for sure whom ever did this took my jumper cables and my jack for the truck and an I phone lighting cable. Now I am trying to figure out what else they might have taken.

Does anyone know what was stored from the factory on a 2002 Tundra AC 4.7 SR5 in the rear cubbies below the rear seats? I don't want to be out somewhere and realize i am missing something to the truck that I needed that this a$$holes took.

    Thanks in advance

Your jack and tire irons to get the wheels on/off and to lower the spare from underneath the bed.

All can easily replaced but I don't think an aftermarket bottle jack will fit into the same cutout space behind the driver's seat in the rear. I could be wrong, I haven't looked into it to deeply.

    Thanks Jack,
They left the irons but took the jack. Your description is what i recalled to be in the drivers side cubby...but i couldn't recall what was in the passenger side (besides some aftermarket ratchet straps and jumper cables I stuffed in there, which they fortunately left).

Well, more not so fun news. They gained entry to the drivers side door by somehow breaking the drivers side lock. Now any key will open my drivers side door. They also tried to steal the truck by jamming, presumably something into the ignition...but that didn't work. But now my key won't turn the ignition lock. Ugh.

So for my next question...any one have any suggestions to help beef up security (besides moving to somewhere where these thieves aren't?). Kill switch? Better locks?

    Appreciate ya'll.

There’s already 90% of the VIP3000 integrated into the truck so you can get a copy of the installation doc to activate it. Only thing it’s missing is the glass breakage sensor. You can only find those on eBay occasionally.

Nothing was in the passenger side cubby, so nothing stolen other than anything you put in there.

You can always put in a kill switch, that’s easy enough to do.

Look at the good news, you still have your cats, right? And I don’t mean the domestic kind.

I would look into getting an aftermarket alarm. I had one installed on an Acura years ago. What comes on our trucks isn't really much of an alarm as you found out. Given all the petty crime taking place in Portland right now I'm sure there are shops near you selling and installing alarms. You should look into protecting your catalytic converters too.

I'm curious if anyone has modified the underseat storage compartments makings them deeper and adding a locking lid?
