I like it a lot. Very comfortable truck. I do have some minor issues I hope they can fix via a software upgrade eventually. The A/C button in environmental wont latch. You must press A/C every time you start the truck. (Dusty dash pic for next 3 things.) Fuel calculations way off. I know I have 8 gallons of gas left and truck thinks it can only go 100 more miles. My average MPG 22.8 so 182 miles till empty would be correct. The calculation being off by 54% seems a bit faulty. I consistently have to add 1 to the cruse control to get desired speed. Third thing is the lane keeping. I drive the exact same route to work daily and noted the system disables its self for a few seconds randomly, It clearly is not based on low paint line quality because its never the same spot and the lines are pristine where I'm checking in on a 7 mile straightaway very flat except for 2 miles at the middles of the bridge. It may be some sort of built in requirement for it not to work 100% and it may "kick" off based on a timer. I am very conscious about keeping both hands in same spot on wheel. Anyhow these are likely all questions for the 2022 Tundra engineers.upload_2022-11-8_15-1-12.jpg

Is 22.8mpg accurate? Is your truck 2WD or 4WD?

First, Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)! Your issues:
    1. The A/C button in environmental wont latch. You must press A/C every time you start the truck.
This may be by design, but I would definitely have it checked out.
    2. Fuel calculations way off. I know I have 8 gallons of gas left and truck thinks it can only go 100 more miles. My average MPG 22.8 so 182 miles till empty would be correct. The calculation being off by 54% seems a bit faulty.
This is by design and is common for the past several years. There is a reserve left in the tank when the computer says you have 0 miles remaining. There has been a lot of discussion about this but the most likely reason is to keep accumulated dirt and debris from going through your fuel pump into the rest of the system.
    3. I consistently have to add 1 to the cruse control to get desired speed.
The speedometer only has to have a certain level of accuracy. This differs slightly with each truck. You can get it fine tuned but it will be off again when the diameter of your tires change due to wear.
    4. Third thing is the lane keeping. I drive the exact same route to work daily and noted the system disables its self for a few seconds randomly.
I have this feature and hate it so I turned it off. I did not keep it on long enough to see what you are seeing.

Mine is a 2020, but it has some of the same tech as your '22. The only issue you have that would drive me nuts is with the A/C. In my opinion, that should not work that way.

How many highway miles was your 1156?? I've got about 1400 miles on my 1794 5.5 bed and I'm getting 13.9AVG. Do you drive in ECO all of the time?

    13.9?
That's what I get with 35's and in SportS mode, on average.

The vast majority of my miles are putting around town dropping kids off, doing errands, etc.. I'd say less than 300 mi is highway. I'm in Sport+ 95% of the time, but my avg speed is like 34MPH.. All on stock wheels/tires up until this past SAT when my 295/18s went on.

Don't want to hijack the thread and turn it into an MPG jerk fest..

I agree with some of your issues 100%. I've had my truck for just over 1 month and absolutely LOVE it. That being said, it has its special moments. I don't use cruise or lane keeping, they both rub me the wrong way in every vehicle I've ever driven.. just not my thing. THE GOD DAMN A/C is garbage and should have the option to disable it completely. I've noticed in the last few days that the distance to empty changed drastically, but for now I'll chalk this up as "break-in period."

I've got some very annoying rattling in the passenger front door when playing most of my music at moderate volume...

Gear hunting is weird with this 10-speed. I get it, it's all about MPG (which I'm not seeing) but it can be very odd. Manual mode is fun though!

A get a considerable lag/hesitation with the gas pedal at times which just feels unnatural. This seems to be well documented here on the forum.

I've noticed a bumping feeling in the steering but the wheel itself is not loose. There's no pattern or specific terrain it happens on but seems to be more prevalent when above 20 MPH.

The Leather seats are not as comfortable as they should be.

Yes that is accurate. I am 2WD and set to ECO / cruise control at all times. I use 3 lines vs 1 for follow distance which will let the truck not chase the lead vehicle so much also. I drive 45-65 and very flat roads here in the Florida Keys. Only 2 traffic lights along my 24 mile drive here also. I did a trip up to West Palm on highways at 75+ and it dropped to 19 MPG for that period. BTW 18 MPG was what I got on my F250 4WD so I am very happy to see it perform better not to mention the extra 2$ a gallon I save by switching to gas. When I got my 250, diesel was less than gas. As a follow up to the Lane Keeping I found that I was not holding the steering FIRM enough. I believe the truck "wants" to feel some resistance when it move the steering in your grip to know you are still there. If I keep more of a kungfu grip on the wheel it rarely beeps. I am testing out the "Auto" mode on the air-conditioned. I am going to test out the Fuel range issue more. This is unacceptable if its going to read range like this. I'm at 73 miles remaining and in the next 24 hours ill drive 50ish miles. I will fill it and note the gallons i put in and then try to do the same at 25ish mile remaining again next month.

Agree on the seat. I traded in a F250 Lariat and the padding in it was a lot less firm and 12 years old. After I drove the 250 miles home from the dealer I was left wondering if more fluff was reserved for the "Cap Stone". I need look into to how to add 10$ more polyfluff to my seat.

I will chime in, I have had my 1794 for about 2 months 2k miles. So far I really enjoy it. Gripes door rattle with music, I plan on sound deadening the doors, mileage I am around 15 with 35s and a lift. Throttle lag yep sometimes, fortunately its drive by wire and turbos so a lot of that could be fixed with software updates. Its not just a Toyota or a tundra thing with fly by wire and boost involved. Seats I don't have much to complain about, they felt mmehh, but they are breaking in and I have no complaints now. This was the safe for me in my way more pricey way more expensive Cadillac I hated those seats at first.

This is my third turbo vehicle (200k+miles in turbos) and lag is normal, you can see the boost gauge and have to understand until a boost is developed you wont get it. Its the price that must be paid if you want higher MPG in a V6 vs a V8. Personally a 1 to 1.5 second delay in firm acceleration is not a big issue to me. I can still pass very effectively and even fudge when I would normally smash the accelerator by 1.5 seconds. After the boost is achieved the acceleration is very good.

I ended up picking a fully loaded Limited over 1794 because seats were softer and more comfortable in the Limited (I’m 6’2”), and the extra stuff you get with 1794 wasn’t worth 6k to me. It took a while to find a fully loaded Limited CM with rear air suspension but worth the wait. I don’t notice the lag and non hybrid will break the tires loose with ease so plenty of power and saved another 3k. 0-60 in 6.2 is quick.

The lag I'm referring to, and believe most other owners is simply throttle and not related to spooling. I've got a stage 1 APR Audi S3 and came from a Ford Explorer Sport TT. We'll vetted with turbos and love them. It's the hesitation in the gas pedal from dead stop that's odd. Like the throttle body is just not opening. It's likely a simple fix but annoying and a bit dangerous in my opinion. I've had a few WTF moments with incoming traffic while making a turn or accelerating through an intersection.

Definitely not. It's a noticeable hesitation when hitting the gas pedal. Again, doesn't happen regularly, but when it does, it grabs your attention
