I know you mentioned the shackles. I’ve never swapped shackles. I’ve done full leaf packs, add a leaf, and blocks. I prefer doing a full pack when I can and that’s why I chose the icon pack. Would prefer Deaver’s but again, not going crazy with this truck.

What do the shackles do? Are they better than any of the other options for lifting the rear?

Shackles are far better than lift blocks and they are better than different leafs if you don’t actually need leafs. If you need leaf’s for the level of use you are going leaf’s are better. But you can also do both taking advantage of the new leafs and shackles. They substantially cut down on side to side sway of your rear end. It really holds them into place. After the Coachbuilder install Bed bounce is pretty much nonexistent on any terrain even those poured bridge sections that make your back end feel like a trampoline. The Coachbuilders also have a much better poly bushing. Just look at the size of the Coachbuilders and other shackles really don’t compare.

Another brand to check out is pro form I bought them before they got popular I think $50 for some heavy duty shackles and I bought coaches poly bushing kit. Not sure the price now I heard they went up some from a couple members inquiring about mine.

Longer shackles will over-flex your leafs, though... unless you extend your bumpstops.

Not for what most folks do with their trucks. But those folks that have to worry about that issue should be going with leafs anyway.
