Just got my used 2018 1794 Tundra a few months back. Tire tread is useable, but it will be time to get new tires soon especially with winter coming. I know there is a great variety of options, so here is how I drive:

    1. Mainly to work and on highway trips.
    2. May need to drive in the snow, sometimes deep.
    3. The quieter the better.
    4. The longer range the better.
    5. If I am driving off road, something has gone horribly wrong OR I have found a new hobby, and then I will upgrade accordingly.

    Thanks for the input!

From you description above the Michelin Defender LTX M/S would be a great choice. I have then on the Tundra and just put them on the 3/4 ton.

Falken WildPeaks AT3 high ratings for snow traction. Falken warranty of 55K miles. I ran Nitto Ridge Grapplers prior to these Falkens and got roughly 55K+ out of them.

I am currently running AT3 for highway miles. I have no complaints so far however I only have about 2500 miles with them. They don't have the aggressive look as I would prefer however I keep reminding myself I purchased for functionality not looks which is hard for me to grasp. haha.

I guess this also depends if you want more of an all-terrain tire or touring.

I think these are great tires too for the desc. I ran them on my wife's sequoia and got a ton of miles out of them.

I don't run them on tundra tho.

Totally agree. I ran them for a while and they were awesome, but I eventually wanted something more aggressive.

The more aggressive look was the reason I didnt choose them for the Tundra. Again, there are more aggressive looking tires that the Falkens im running. haha. But happy with them thus far.

ditto on the defender. Great tire on road, wet, snow, will be super smooth, M/S rated, wear very well.

I run Wildpeaks because I wanted an aggressive AT, but have run defenders on other vehicles when I didnt want something so aggressive. Excellent tire.

Do you plan to keep stock size or move to larger tires?

Agreed on the more aggressive looks, have been in a Tundra with the Wildpeaks and they are somewhat quiet. But on the highway at 75-85 mph for hours on end, quiet becomes more important to me that aggressive lugs, at least for me and those trying to sleep.

Take a look at the Cooper Discoverer AT3.

They’re quiet, excellent in snow and ice, and are great for any road condition- freeway to rutted and rocky forest roads.

    Also, the 33” fits nicely.

I’ll throw the General Grabber ATX out there as a good, quiet tire that would fit the bill.

I'm running 275/60/20 Goodyear Ultra Terrain from Discount tire.
These are SL-rated in this size instead of the KO2s D-rated I had and they ride much smoother.
Although they still have the look and tread of an AT tire.
Some of the best tires I've ever bought.

Goodyear Wrangler UltraTerrain AT | Discount Tire

I actually when in to buy Cooper AT3 XLT, but tried these instead.
I had 30 days to go for the Coopers, but I ended up liking the Goodyears.

Out of curiosity, is this totally stock? And what was the actual tire size?

I'm in a similar situation to the OP. I do less commuting and we have a gravel driveway but if I am being realistic these should be plenty aggressive enough for what I'd use them for.

OMG- sorry, no. I have the Bilstein 5100’s up front on middle setting, so the truck is leveled. These are 275 70 18’s. I didn’t think about that when I posted, my apologies.

Here is a link that gets shared a lot, and it is a good one. Details the range of tire sizes you can fit on factory and with a variety of modifications:

Toyo AT3's are great. I have about 10k on my 295/60r20's and they pretty much look brand new. Great in the snow/ice and quiet on the highway. They look great too.
