I’ve had several Tacomas and early Tundras and the seats have always been incredibly comfortable…especially on longer trips.

However my 22 Platinum driver’s seat is very uncomfortable..it’s like there are two hard “tubes” running fore and aft which are uncomfortable to sit on…even for short periods of time.

I don’t know if there are for the cooling, ductwork or what but they are a problem. It’s not that I don’t have a lot of “padding” back there but I can’t believe how uncomfortable the drivers seat is. I guess I should check the passenger seat for the same.

I don’t know how to approach it with the dealer…checking to see it’s not only me!

    Others?

    Thanks!

If your dealer has additional trucks on the lot, go sit in some. If they feel the same, then it's likely just they way they are. If they feel ok and yours doesn't, then that is how you approach the dealer. Have them do the same sit test.

Sold my Tacoma because the seats were uncomfortable. The seats in my Tundra Limited are great.

Same. So far, it's one of my biggest gripes. I'm not impressed with the seat comfort. Not sure if it's got something do to with breaking the seat in, but I find it pretty stiff and bumpy feeling for a leather seat. I also feel like the seat should sit a bit higher.

    I'm 5' 11" 192 lbs.

I have mixed feelings about 1794 leather seats.

I do agree that my drivers seat is very hard, with very little padding on the seat. It is Not soft at all, and if you don't seat onto it slowly, it's like sitting down onto a wooden bench.

Seat does have lots of adjustments (10 way), has a nice extendable support for thighs, which makes it sort like a recliner chair, and it should be comfortable! But! I've been trying to dial it in for the past couple of weeks and it's good, but not amazing.

OH... And seat is very hard! I test drive a limited before and seat seemed cushy. F150 seat was very cushy and soft! My 2013 ram truck was soft. But Tundra feels like there's very little padding

Give this a try; it sounds like seat jackers will fix your issue....

They aren't the best seats I've sat in, but I haven't experienced what you are talking about. I find them reasonably comfortable.

On a side note, be careful with the seat lift things. I don't believe they are rated by NTHSA. If airbags etc are tested and rated for a specific height and you change that, it could prevent the proper functioning and even insurance from supporting your claims. Food for thought.

Well ... did some research. Had to take my Platinum in for service ... there were 7-8 Tundras sitting around the lot (I couldn't believe it)most were SR5's. Sat in one ...and the seat was extremely comfortable! Tried a couple out and it was the same. I'm convinced it's the duct work or what ever associated with the ventilated seats, which is not in an SR5 with a cloth interior. Not sure where to go from here ... even though this is truly a 1st world problem.... it's a daily problem. Gave a lot of thought to trading for an SR5 when I was there, (if not the Lunar Rock Tacoma they had also...love that color) but wife threatened me. Sadly I guess I'll have to live with it.

I have an SR5 and found the seat to be VERY uncomfortable at first, having driven 800 miles it’s much better and comfy now, not sure how the ventilated seats feel in comparison, but I was worried at first

I agree, my Tundra's seats are very firm compared to my Ford's and Audi. They are borderline uncomfortable with long drives.

My platinum is somewhat comfortable except there doesn’t seem to be an outside adjustment to widen like my highlander unless I haven’t been looking in the right place .

Not a fan of another cushion but will buy a thin one thats between the outer seat supports

I sat in Platinum, 1794, and Limited and felt a big difference in comfort. The leather seats looked amazing but, they were too firm and lumpy for me. Im 6’2” 210 and seat comfort was one of the reason I stepped down to a fully loaded Limited with the Softext seats. It had 90% of the luxury features and much more comfortable seating. Loved the 1794 interior but spending 5+ grand more and being uncomfortable didn’t make sense. I know some people love the leather seats. I must have a tender back side.

Sadly ...what it takes to make an almost $70,000 truck ride almost comfortably! Should be an embarrassment for Toyota. I'm getting rid of it after the 1st of the year...as it's been relegated to trips no longer than 30 min. due to how uncomfortable it is. I guess I'll go to cloth or back to Tacoma.

I’m a princess when it comes to seats and so far my platinum without seat jackers is still more comfortable than my 22 pro with jackers. I can only imagine it’ll get better when i get home and put them on

not sure about the seat jackers, but I will say the Softex seats in my ‘22 SR5 were more comfortable than the TRD Pro seats. Miss the seats and the elevation. I’m guessing the lifted front of the Pro makes the seats seem lower than the SR5.

When i test drove the Limited with regular Softex seats - i think that it was soft and comfortable.

The "Leather" seats in 1794 and Platinum are HARD without much padding... feels like i'm sitting on a bench in the park.

Maybe ... but it feels that there's some sort of a "hard part" under the seat leather which has very little padding - so not sure if that'll break in or not. The part part may be some sort of a bar or pipe, or mechanics for the seat, or a heated/cooled seats components.

Softex are great. Currently on a road trip and have been in the seat for hours at a time. No complaints, this truck is a road king. Very pleased.
