In live in the rust belt so rust free trucksare my main priority. I just looked at a 2011 4.6 tundra 4x4 from a friend that was a contracters fleet truck for his company. it has ZERO ( like factory paint is all there) but has 160,000 miles. i know toyotas are reliable but is this a truck that has no rust that will get me to 300k? Im trying to get me a truck that lasts me the long run. its always been maintained by the toyota dealership and only has ever had one small electrial issue. Does 13k seem steep for oneof these? maybe this is a post thats been awnserd all the time but im new to this forum

    I just bought a 2011 Tundra double cab SR5 4WD, 102 k miles last week... $21 grand.
I think that was too much for it...but the truck market is just crazy..and I wanted it..so... your deal doesn't seem too bad to me.
I'd been looking for a while and have seen many for sale with 225k or more miles on them...and still wanted a lot of $$$

Look at the paint in the welds/joined areas. Not just the body. The frame and underside of the truck get the most rust. Look for bubbles in the paint/coating Especially the hard to reach places where water can puddle. Miles don't mean much when it comes to rust. The search function is available for members and nonmembers.

Sorry, i guess i didnt specify about the paint but what i meant was i crawled underneath and the frame is still new looking, not any rust anywhere underneath

Nice find! Sounds like a good deal to me. There’s never a guarantee for any truck to make it to 300k, but the 4.6 tundra has a great track record for reliability.
