Just completed the 100,000 timing belt /water pump service. Belt was fine before I just figured it was time. Everything went smoothly Cams lined up with crank shaft ,rotated motor everything still lined up. but it back together and running like new but now it's over heating. Changed the stat still overheating.

Is the jiggle valve at 12 o'clock position?

The coolant loop can't bleed air properly if it's not "upright."

Coolant can't flow if there's air in the system, either, to your latter point.

I suspect it's one of the two: tstat isn't clocked correctly, or air bubbles in the system. @Kevin Bodmer did you keep the heat on full-blast while filling, and what method did you use to fill?

Yes Thanks, that is what the problem was. I replaced the stat position and then "burped" the cooling system with the heat on full. Just completed the front rack replacement, And Timing/water pump service. Pulled the bed sanded ,POR'd the frame , new rear bed. new cat's and exhaust back. It's like a new truck!

If you don't see overheats the next couple of weeks, do us a favor as a "thanks!" ... come back and update this post after a couple of weeks, just to say, "yep, that was it!"

Those four words could really help a future traveler here in the future.
