    Out of curiosity went to the website "build your own", made it to the choose your model step and was stopped cold by this;

    XLT with Standard Range Battery (260 miles +/- I think) base price $59,474. Click the Extended Range Battery which, again I think, is only 300 miles +/- and base price shoots to $80,974!! Holy Hell! $21.5k for 70 miles!

    However, on the Lariat the base price only increases $11.5k, from $74,474 to $85,974.

    Those battery prices are insane!

    Its probably power based as well. Bigger battery usually has bigger motor or more than one.

    From what I'm reading, you're right. A bit more power, but also more weight (almost 500 lbs). Appears payload is same between the two, but max towing capacity increases 2300 lbs.

    Reading further, the XLT upgrade appears to require additional upgrades not related to the battery/drivetrain whereas the Lariat does not. But still, $11.5k more?

    This was just curiosity for me, I'm not looking to replace my Tundra any time soon.

    Good call. I would not use the F150 as a true truck, yet. This being there first there will be a ton of hiccups in the process.

    My wife’s Bolt has a range of 236. With the temperature dipping into the 50’s this week,. Her current full charge is 170. That’s on perfect flat, no wind , no heater or Ac. I definitely get range anxiety in that thing.

    As with any “new” tech - buy the absolute cheapest - allowing you to be both an early adopter and to have change in pocket when the inevitable upgrades start rolling out a couple of years later. Take what you would have spent on a “top of the line” 2023 and in 2025 with your trade you’ll likely be able to get the something better at no added cost factoring your trade and your savings.

    The added cost for a “small” bump in power and range is insane right now. If I have to think about the chances of a new vehicle leaving me stranded - it’s not the vehicle for me.
