I have a 2004 tundra with JBA upper control arms. And I was told they would work with the 4.5” tuff country lift however when I got the lift it has these little spacer things which besides from looking absolutely dangerous, seem to me like they will not fit with these control arms. Has anyone run into this problem before? Should I just get the extended spindles from tuff country and if so how can I order them individually?

I would definitely replace the spindles with the taller ones from Tuff Country. @Hi06silver did exactly what you're looking to do. Perhaps he can chime in

Will I need an adapter to make them fit? I read an older thread about an adapter for the SPC arms.

The adapter you linked is going to be specific for SPC control arms most likely. SPC went through a few different designs on that adapter with their control arms.

I'm not familiar with the JBA arms so I don't know for sure how they work - that adapter might be removable from your current spindles. JBA lists an adapter on their website but it doesn't say it fits our trucks. https://jbaoffroad.com/steering-knuckle-adapter-bushing-kit.html

My UCA’s look very similar to the ones you have linked, maybe it will just work. Have you heard anything about the extended spindles having a different sized ball joint loop or whatever it’s called on top?

Not not familiar with your UCAs but the above is what I did.
I can give you the contact info for the guy I ordered the spindles from not sure if he's still working for tuff country or what as he didn't respond to my last email a while back. If you go this route make sure you either ask if they fixed the milling process on the drivers spindle or make sure they give you the spacer that I had them create. Otherwise you'll do what I did and possibly damage that driver's side wheel speed sensor when you put it back in. This is where I haven't heard back from them so I sorta gave up. Kinda feel like they should've replaced the sensor at their cost but I guess they didn't...

There are guys that have accomplished this with other coil overs I believe but this is the route I went because it worked with another forum member on here also. He's not as active so I try to help out in this situation as much as I can.

The slug adapter was resized with the SPC arms after a while just FYI. If you end up using those. Just call and verify it's the new ones

I'd call both JBA to confirm for sure about the slug adapter.

The biggest thing with spindles on these trucks I'm aware of is that you're going to want Tuff Country spindles made for the 04-06 trucks. These trucks have bigger lower ball joints and a different bolt pattern. I don't think that you need to be concerned about the loop where the upper ball joint goes in, but I would ask Tuff Country about that if you're concerned. I personally haven't heard of that part of the spindle causing anyone issues (doesn't mean it's not a thing though!).

Thank you guys for your help I’ve called tuff country and they said I could just use the spindle spacer if I wanted but I think I’m going to go ahead and order the extended spindles for peace of mind

This is the best route if you've got the 4.5" lift IMO. That was a bad design from the gate. Don't forget to ask about the drivers spindle. You'll destroy your abs sensor if you have ABS and it's milled to shallow.
I believe the guy I dealt with was names Lars btw.
