Does anyone know of a tried and true way of getting heavy oil/ tar off of my paint and windshield?

This morning as I was on my way out, an oil truck was spitting out **stuff out of the top of his hatch. As I drove by I noticed a considerable amount of spray off land on my windshield. I quickly pulled over only to find the front end of my truck was covered with oil /tar blotches. By the time I realized it, the oil hauler was long gone. Now I’m left here to try and get rid of all this stuff. Does anyone have any hacks / cleaning products that you recommend to remove this stuff?

your local parts store will have bug and tar remover. That should do the trick. Use it and then clean it off well, wash with dawn soap. Follow up with some wax on any treated painted areas because that stuff will remove any wax/sealant.
