Finally got my baja design fogs mounted next to the diode dynamics. Baja is the squadron sport wide cornering amber and diode is the ss3 pro amber fog. I am not going to spoil the results just yet, please comment which one do you think looks better for fog lights.

For my needs, this is the pattern that would suit me best. my OEM LED pro's handle all of the driving light I need, so my "fogs" would be strictly for whiteout conditions. I'd likely go with the product that is responsible for this image. :spending:

edit - didnt realize both "beam cutoff" shots were 1 image. I'm talking about the lower/bottom pic of the 2.

I might not be understanding the question correctly, but I guess I’ll choose the SS3 since it’s the only one that is a fog light.

Also, you should flip the bezel on that squadron sport so that the writing is right-side up! :D

Haha, I tried but I don't thinks it will work right side up with the bracket pointing down?

Honestly not very happy with my Baja designs. The output of the last SAE was worse than the factory head lights. Don’t like using the wide cornering due to blinding other people. And yes, I had both! Looking forward to trying the SS3s!

EDIT - offroad they are great! Just wish the Wide Cornering were better on road, or that BD had a better on road option.

DD for me and I have owned both. BD’s are super bright but the cutoff doesn’t compare, making the DD’s usable (AKA not blinding on coming motorists) during normal driving.

    EDIT:
My apologies to everyone, I honestly thought OP was comparing the non SAE Baja Designs to the SAE Diode Dynamics. Nothing more nothing less…

I meant no offense to Baja Designs and own/owned quite a few products of theirs.

Just pull the screws and rotate both the lens and the black bezel. I promise you it will work (as long as you don’t strip the screws), and you’ll have upright writing on the black bezel as well as an upright BD logo in the center of the lens.

Were you running the SAE Baja design fogs? I’ve had mine about 3.5 years and think I’ve oy been flashed once or twice. Of course I have to show the brights just to prove I’m in low beams.

No I was running the Squadron Sport wide cornering. My bad, I though OP was comparing the non SAE.

Hey @Oey12, Which lights of ours were you comparing to the DD lights?

If you solely drive on flat narrow surfaces the DD solutions are a great candidate. If your adventures involve elevation change and you would prefer to drive off-road aggressively the sharp horizontal and vertical cutoffs will leave you wishing you had the transitional spill light of Baja Designs. The majority of our products are designed for off-roading specifically and we do offer an SAE version of our Squadron that does have sharper cutoffs than the other options. Depending on the light you are comparing, it would be similar to comparing apples to oranges. Both lights are built for two different applications.

Hey @king.cong.1119, you can definitely rotate the bezel on this light so the writing is right side up. Just unscrew the 4 bezel bolts and rotate the bezel and re-insert those bolts.

^this - the abrupt cut off when bouncing around off-road is absolutely distracting to the eyes, which is why I opted for the BD sports in a W/C pattern. I've been running them on my rig for quite some time and have yet to be flashed. It might have something to do that I run them at "10%" PWM control via SP9100 when on the road...but no regrets.

I don't think I've run into a BD lens setup that is indexed where it would prevent you from orienting your lens anyway you'd like. Can confirm first hand that is not the case with some of the DDs :/

Case in point...S1s with mounting bracket vertical and lenses rotated 90 for W/C pattern..

lol...I went full BD on the truck, minus the Cyclone V2s under the truck for rock lights. Planning my next push for Front and Rear Bumper upgrades, along with roof rack (potentially) and will be replacing existing BD with more BD.

DD makes one hell of a product as does RI,KC...but there is something about BD that I know I can rely upon. Similar to buying a Surefire vs Streamlight...

YMMV, but just build your package for your majority use case and within your budget...

Baja design squadron sport (wide cornering) vs Diode dynamics ss3 pro fog. Screen shot of the comparison from the video I am working on. Pick ur preference, each pictures order isn’t consistent as a blind test should be. Haha

I like photos 2, 3, 6, & 8. Hopefully, that is flipflopping between the two. If you can lock the settings on your camera it will create a better comparison.

Edit: Thanks for doing this! The camera comment wasn't supposed to be shitty, and I appreciate your time.

haha no problem, I am fairly familiar with the camera setting, so all vs photo settings are locked (manual everything) even to the white balance. cheers
