    Hello fellow tundra enthusiast,

I am at this moment typing to you from an autozone parking lot in the dark with a headlamp, laptop, and portable wifi hotspot internet from my phone. I am currently waiting for a tow truck to tow my 2019 Tundra TRD pro home as it is not running to even get me home. So i need your help just to see what I can do to fix this adventure im having. I just installed my harrop supercharger today with my friends who have mild to no mechanical experience. After installing the supercharger and installing the stage 2 tune for it I am having misfire in 1, 2, 3, and four. It started up okay but has extremely rough idle and died/stalled when I stepped on the gas. We thought it was a fuel injector issues so we removed all the fuel injectors and found some injectors that werent seated in the rail all the way so I also on top of that had a too lean code. After clearing the codes it seemed to hold idle and i was able to drive it with extreme hesitation on the throttle to an autozone and nappa. After purchasing a battery and coming back the truck is havig trouble starting, holding idle, and missfiring again. Putting it in gear and then after touching the throttle completely stalls the truck. I've been diagnosing the truck and the unplugging the fuel lines from the fuel rails and front of the gas tank. Whats strange is that Fuel only comes out when im cranking the vehicle. No fuel comes when the Key is in the Ignition position. Same with the fuel lines on the bottom of the truck coming from the tank. In fact the smaller fuel line(which i presume is the fuel return line) I can crank and no fuel returns back to the tank. Only the fuel sending line has fuel come out when cranking. Is this normal behavior? I am convinced it is some sort of fuel issue. Maybe we got some hoses from the gas tank or fuel pumps mixed up or the fuel pump is dying. Please any and all help will be appreciated. I am in Valdosta, GA if anyone has the expertise please reach out to me. What are my options? Will the toyota dealership here touch it even if i did the modifications myself?

    Sincerely,
    Michael

Go back thru your directions and ensure the injectors are seated, plugged in all the way at harnesses and your fuel lines are ALL correctly routed and installed. Have you put in a new fuel pump into the tank? Turn key on without starting and ensure noises are happening at the tank (fuel pump), IC reservoir/pump and on top of engine where injectors may cycle. Repeat until everything does make noise...is your MAF plugged in? Great work on the install...just need a couple "double-checks" to ensure everything is tight and plugged in!

I wouldn't take to dealership unless you like giving money away...they'd likely charge you a lot to read thru directions and confirm your work...you can do that better!

Where are you located? A fresh set of eyes connected to a mechanically inclined mind may go a long way to spot something obvious…

Also, double check all vacuum lines. A simple vacuum leak can cause misfiring on multiple cylinders, rough idle, and rough/no start conditions.

Too bad you already installed the injectors, if not you could revert back to stock and test the install as a Stage 1.

injectors are really easy to swap actually. Two bolts and the connectors and the entire rail comes off to swap injectors. Not much in the way. Fuel pump is gonna suck. I filled the 38 tank to half way meaning its 120 lbs or so. Ill switch to stage 1 if all else fails.

Okay so I think I figured out the issue looking at the instructions. I had a hunch but this basically confirms it. I got my friend who had very little to no English install the fuel pump. I thought my other friend who knew English checked his work but he forgot to swap the fuel pump o ring spacer over I think. Not sure yet but I’m definitely going to drop the tank and check1C0822D3-B0A0-4306-A702-0C1773A190BF.jpgE37CC12E-E297-4C63-B3D6-878BE93E19F9.jpg

On a side note: when I installed the walboro pump on my supercharged tacoma I had dropped the tank installed everything and put it back together. I looked at the box the fuel pump came in and noticed a rubber spacer I forgot to install on the new pump. I sat there for a few minutes trying not to go "insane" - took a deep breath and dropped the tank again, pulled the pump and seated the rubber spacer. Once back together everything ran like a charm though. Good luck again OP

It worked! Spacer was the culprit. Oring had nothing to back up against. When we took the fuel pump out the oring got blown out back towards the pump. Runs like a dream now. Going to go test drive this supercharger now.

Awesome! Glad that worked out. Should've went to a 450 pump while in there haha

We don’t use traction control around these parts! Even pre supercharger it ruins the driving experience. I turn that sucker off (hold it in for 3 seconds two times) every time I start the truck. Lol I’m glad you got it all figured out and can enjoy it now.

It’s so much powered I’m worried I might drive into another lane on accident or ram someone but I’ll give it a try

On wet/loose ground coming with the wheel turned it is fairly easy to fish tail/whip the back end around. On a straight away not as easy. Tires are a big part of it too.

Oh no bad news now when im fueling up at the gas station the pump just stops due to pressure or something. I can trickle fill it or fill it up and let the gaseous air come out for a little bit pump a few more gallons and then it stops again. Is this the rollover valve or what? I guess its not too big of a deal but a little bit annoyed. Maybe toyota dealership can help me Im at 34000 miles which means i should have powertrain warranty still.

Or this could be something else as well since you just dropped the tank. Make sure all hoses etc are on correctly.

There's a few ways. Warranty for a new tank (this doesn't address future issues). Lower tank and make the flap inoperable. Or lower tank stick your arm in and remove it. Arm in from the fuel pump basket area.
