My '07 has no 4wd, and after reading everything I can find about it I'm pretty positive the problem is in the actuator. I was trying to remove the low and high covers to clean, diagnose and repair but when I went to remove the covers I found 2 of the screw heads completely corroded. Another one I was able to get the philips screwdriver into, and once applying serious pressure the head snapped off. I need remove the entire actuator assembly now. Can any of you give me direction on how to do that or steer me to an existing thread on it? It can't be as easy as removing the 3 bolts and pulling it off..?

You can’t take the complete actuator off without disassembling the transfer case. But you can cheat. You can take the actuator apart and leave the rods in the transfer case. The guy in this video kinda shows enough to help you figure it out. He does not show taking it apart but does show putting it back together. It is not in English and the part I think you will want to see starts around 10:30. I hope it helps.

Always used your 4x4s like on a monthly basis to ensure it works properly.

How you figure this one out.
