Got the Tundra a baby Hybrid brother. I'll add commentary once the fire settles a bit; I'll check back in tomorrow.

Congrats on the new rig! For a commuter that can still haul a couch, fridge, or some trash to the dump I really don't think you can do better than the AWD Maverick.

I approve. I want to take one for a spin. Miss the smaller trucks.

Can you fit 4 full size people in a Maverick or can only kids fit in the back when adults sit up front?

I imagine it'd be similar to the double cab in a Taco. Usable for around town, but adults won't want to road trip in the back seat.

But it’s a Maverick; isn’t it smaller than a taco?

No flaming from me but I'm just not sure what I would do with that thing. I'm impressed by the MPG estimates though. I think if I were wanting a Hybrid I'd get something like a new RAV4.

I actually fully 100% understand. For short commuting and longer trips where you need to haul, especially with what you currently have going on to the north, the MPG with added hauling function makes total sense for you and others. I think you'll be seeing a lot of businesses start doing the same, tripling gas mileage and their workers still get a truck, and that good good low-end electric torque? Time to buy stock in Ford, even if people freaking hate the brand or the technology (even the immature dumbasses who ICE charging stations), Ford's sales are about to see a significant percentage bump.

But, on the flipside, being a classic steel fan, I'm super disappointed they re-appropriated the Maverick name. I helped my brother get a 1970s Maverick 2dr, his first car. A lot of people thought they were shitboxes back in the day, but you could do some really fun stuff with them and they somewhat resembled a Camaro from the rear. (this pic is from Hemming's auction, byt my brothers was almost identical, just a deeper blue color)

I had a '73 Ford Maverick. It was a great car, with a 6 cylinder motor and a 3 speed on the column. What a dream to work on, but I rarely needed to fix anything. Over 100K when I sold it and didn't use any oil and ran like new still. Oh, I wish I had it today. No pictures of it, but it was that kind of golden orange color Ford used to paint their cars in that time frame. I agree with you about using the Maverick name, I guess they figure no one will catch that, 40 plus years later.

The only way that could be possible is if you’re no larger than 5’5” or the seats are the thickness of folding chairs. :p

That’s a lot of overhang for a 4x8 sheet of drywall.

Well a 4x8 doesn't fit between the wheel wells. Sits on top of them and the tailgate has a second spot at the same level so there is probably only about 2 feet of length overhang. I'm guessing.

It's actually got some neat features. Also has a rail system along the sides a la Frontier. It's a cool little truck. Flame suit on.

I’ll provide some details this evening about the truck.

I ordered it 21Aug21 and got it last week (14 months later). I paid 4% under invoice, price protected back to order date and interest rate locked to that date as well. I did good on this one.

My first tank got me 510 miles with “70” miles to empty. Took around 12 gallons.

I hear you, but why wouldn't you just snag a Tacoma then? Similar MPG as the lifted Mav' and looks fantastic. Purely :stirthepot:
