Cerakote coating product

I saw a TV ad for the Cerakote full body coating. The commercial made it seem ridiculously easy (and left out any mention of what kind of prep would be required.) Has anyone tried this product yet and what are your thoughts?

 

do a search. there's a couple threads on it i believe. but yea, i've used it and loved it with great results. same with others on here. FOLLOW DIRECTIONS!

 

It is amazing, so much better than most coatings that wear quickly or run and streak when they get wet. Follow instructions, clean and make sure everything is dry before applying. I did some of the black plastic in areas- bed rail tops, bumpers center sections almost 3 years ago and they are still look great. The stuff does in fact work as advertised.

 

I should have been a little clearer - the commercial I saw was for a full body coating in a spray application. The pads I agree are a very good product.

 

Cerakote the whole truck?? Would be pricy!

Long story short, I cleaned, then decontaminated, then the clay bar and polished with Rupes yellow pairing. I’m an old guy with poor search skills so the next thing I did was put on a nice Sovereign wax job. Then the Undrdog. Well, it didn’t look too good. I was then taken to school in the Undrdog forum (deservedly so.) I then went after my white 2016 1794 with another cleaning, followed by polishing with the white Rupes combo. I then wiped the truck down with alcohol to remove any residue, then re-applied the Undrdog Pro. Much better results, but not the “wow” factor I was expecting. A good guy from the Undrdog forum helped me to understand that the white polish leaves a bit of residue that I didn’t get off. A quick wash yesterday showed me nice beading, so I am closer. My sweetie has to go out of town for work next week, so with cool and sunny weather coming, I’m going to get after the truck again looking for that “oooh, shiny” effect. I’m glad I bought the 60ml bottle to start with….

I finally saw the commercial again.

 

If it's anything like they're trim coating, it's going to be a badass product

 

Amazon has it for $19.99 right now. Too bad they won’t ship it to Alaska.
