I got my tundra in april. Everything worked fine. Bought the year subscription for wifi. In June wireless carplay just stopped working. Then I noticed wifi wouldn’t work. Now the head unit hard resets randomly. I’ve taken it to the dealer twice and they can get wireless carplay to work. I have tried a new iphone still won’t work. I deleted everything off the head unit and redid my profile. Still won’t work. Now bluetooth cuts off randomly too.

I had an issue with the unit freezing and resetting when using CarPlay also, but soon realized it was only happening in a specific part of town… Apparently certain frequencies and other interferences can affect wireless CarPlay…

Not sure if your issues were also in a specific location or constant, but might be a similar issue… when I travel to that part of town, I have to use the wired CarPlay or deal with the resetting issues…

Hey, thanks for the reply! I drive about a 100 miles a day all over my county. It happens all of the time. The hard resets typically happen about 3-5 minutes after starting the truck when it was shut off for a short time. It’s so weird.

I gave up on the wireless carplay. I never had luck with that since the day I drove mine home. I always just use the guest profile and keep my phone connected via bluetooth. I haven't had an issue with the wifi though? I bought the year subscription also, best thing ever.

Those of you having difficulty with wireless carplay, do you happen to have VPN installed on your phone? That is a very common problem with wireless carplay connections.

Update: HU replaced. Wireless CarPlay and Wi-Fi working as advertised. No more random resets. Waited about 2 weeks for HU to come in.
