Anyone seen or have ? Looks like a good way to secure your valuable gear in the back of your truck.

I like the idea, but they look like they could be easily defeated by any pocket knife.

    Edit: from their website-

“Steelcore straps have a braided 7/19 galvanized steel cable at the center covered in a cut-resistant, heavyweight webbing made of a proprietary blend of steel and fibers.”

So maybe not any pocket knife.

Yeah I did and edited my post. I guess they would deter the honest thieves.

I don't think they're ideal for long term situations but a long road trip with stops along the way seems ideal

I have a pair of Kanulocks that I’ve used for kayaks and to secure a topper closed. I’m generally pleased with them. I wouldn’t rely on them for long term storage but they seem perfect for securing things while running errands or on a day trip.

    A few observations:

    - I think the strap is safe from a pocket knife attack but I’m not sure it would survive a bolt cutter.
    - The key is cheap. If the strap is tightened substantially, the cam can be hard to open and it feels like forcing it can break the key.
    - It’s never been a problem for me but I’ve read that the rubber around the cam can melt in extreme heat.

    Fixed it further.

I use RV Inno lockable surf racks which are similar in that they use a wire rope. As others have said, it's not a long term undefeatable system, but it gives me hope that if I just need to run in the store or something my boards will still be there when I come out.

Basically banking on the hope that the honest lazy thief doesn't have wire cutters on him.
If we slow them down or make it hard on them, sometimes they'll just move on to the next target of opportunity.
If they really want our shit, they'll usually find a way to get it.

Custom bug spat pattern hood, grill & bumper. Dead Live Oak leaf collection under hood, cowl and lower fenders. Beach sand custom floor covering.
Great idea for the bikes on the front and back of the travel trailer. Last time I looked the Leatherman tool didn't have the Dewalt 18v angle grinder attachment.

Nailed it. Things like cat shields and steel infused straps are only meant to deter and/or slow a$$holes down long enough to get caught or seen.

I like the idea, but nowadays thieves are running around with sawzalls. If you can cut through an exhaust pipe, you can cut through a strap, even with a braided 7/19 galvanized steel cable at the center.

I’ve just been strapping my stuff down and using a Bolt cable lock, but that can be cut pretty easily too.
