New Bed Rack from Expedition One coming soon!!!

I contacted my friend James who owns Expedition One back in August about developing a new bed rack for the Gen 3 Tundra. I told him that I plan to use the BAK Revolver X4S tonneau cover and that he should design a bed rack around it. He agreed to design one so I got him the same BAK tonneau cover so he can get started on R&D.

A few weeks later I told James that I hate it when all the accessories are already hanging on the bed rack and I have to climb into the bed to access them. I suggested to have the side plates on hinges and struts so they can open up like "gull wings" to access the bed from outside the truck.

Well...here's the final product! He's going to debut the new rack in his booth in a few weeks at this year's SEMA Show. My truck will be there also showing off the same rack.

Nice! Depending on pricing, I might consider going this route rather than the RSI SmartCap I originally planned for. I like this quite a bit!

Nice looking rack! Would this fit a gen 2.5? Will the back flip operate with this rack?

I like that there are more options out there that are compatible with tonneau covers.

I want to keep my bed secure. I'm less concerned about operating the tonneau cover (opening it). As long as I can mount a rack using my OEM tonneau cover, then it's an option for me. Opening the cover is secondary, in my use case.

I use my truck as a daily driver and I don't want to be worried about my stuff. First world problems, I know. lol. That's why I pretty much nixed most of the racks and started looking at the RSI SmartCap route.
