We live in the mountains in northern Colorado. We have CenturyStink (CenturyLink) for an ISP. The service sucks. It goes out on a regular basis. The most we could get was 10MPS. When the power goes out we lose phone service. The service just sucks.

We finally decided to spring for Starlink. We put in our order and deposit. They told us it would probably be at least 6 months before they got to our order. Two months later they sent us an email saying that we needed to complete the order so they could send it to us. After we got the system it took about two hours to get it up and operational. Our new speed is amazing. We get up to 180MPS now. It normally runs about 140 MPS. It's night and day.

Since we are dropping CenturyStink we had to change our email addresses. My wife emailed one of her old friends from work (she used to work IT) and he asked her to send him a pic for a friend that he has that reports directly to Elon Musk. She sent the pic no thinking much about it. We don't do Twitter. Her friend sent this pic back today. I love this system.

That's a sweet upgrade, and an even sweeter view! What's the price tag on starling per month? Install?

It ran 599.00 for the equipment (router, antenna, cable) and then we bought a mount that was around 40.00. We installed it ourselves. It was super easy. Mount the antenna, run the cable, connect the cable to the router and used the app on our phone to set up the router. Monthly it is 110.00. We also had to get an adapter for the router to hard wire to the security system. That was another 30 bucks.

That is good to hear, that the actual wait time was so much better. The property where we plan to build down here in LA (Lower Alabama) is "serviced" by CenturyStink (love that name) and NOBODY likes them. I will be ordering a Starlink when the time is right.
