100% agree, the metal caps felt nice but it froze onto my valve stems, and gave me major issues, I have switched to the plastic caps ever since.

When you park your truck, if you don't look back at least once, you're driving the wrong truck.

Exactly why I want to remove it. It’s a heavy sob.

I may just remove and only use on family trips.

Better in inclement weather, rain, fog, dust, snow

although not sure for the OEM LED fogs, they have a 6000k color temp which has a hint of blue so putting a yellow film over it might have a green hue. Might not be the case be seen it a lot on Tacomaworld

Amber is good for inclement weather such as fog and heavy dust. It also allows other drivers to see you more easily in those conditions.

I try to pack light but on a recent solo trip to ENP …right after my ARE was installed …truck was saying 19 mpg …(I didnt pencil and paper it) keeping it around 70 & not using cruise control…I like my cap but also love a truck without one …for work tho I really use and enjoy mine daily

that is a good topic, I believe having a cap back there help with the vehicles aerodynamics which will at least offset the additional 200lb weight of it. as far as if it will increase the mpg i dont know.

Picked up my truck from getting Magnusson supercharger installed!

Being careful with it for now as the “93 octane” fuel purchased turned out to be E85. Tuner noted this while looking over truck when done with install and I verified with my car scanner as well.

really irritating that the gas was not as advertised…

Thanks for the replies on the cap. I figured mileage would go down due to the weight. I like my truck with out one but could really use it when traveling.

I don't think you will see MPG goes down with just the cap, but it does feel the truck is lighter, more agile and accelerates quicker without the cap.

Check the build link in my signature.
Currently struggling with my SP9100 tripping out when I turn on my 30" Baja S8 light bar. It's a 12A load (confirmed using an Amp meter inline on the wiring direct to the battery) and if the engine is running it's tripping out on two out of four switches set to 20A overcurrent value. If I drop them down to 15A, the other two also trip. Waiting for a reply back from them from my last message with more detailed troubleshooting details.

So I actually had a buddy of mine that does paint and body work take care of it for me. I had seen in another thread they used:

    3555535B-C90E-4679-8BAD-AA80A0ADDB54.jpg
so that’s what I told him. He sanded, primed then painted.

If they are stainless steel you will have problems! I lost a valve stem to a set like that.

That's weird they'll probably warranty it out if it's the unit. But I've heard nothing but good things about these, Spod not so much. Any issue with the light itself maybe? Doubtful but never know
