Bought my Tundra back in October of 2019, and now that it's paid off I want to start installing some upgrades (level kits, wheels and tires, etc.). Looking for some insight/ideas from other owners on here. Looking forward to meeting some other Tundra owners and seeing some of the other rigs for ideas.

Paying off a vehicle feels reeaaal good don't it?

Suspension Lift Kit and Tires + Wheels would personally be my first upgrades maybe window tint too.

    my two cents.

Welcome to the money sucking forum. Where most trucks on here inspire me to spend mo' money!

    :spending:

    haha I love it here.

It's amazing, now I can blow more money on parts haha

Yeah I plan on putting either a B8 5100 kit or Boss 3/1 kit on but can't decide which. I'm putting KM717s with KO2 285/75rs with the lift kit once I decide which kit I want. Window tint is a good idea too, I'll add it to the list.

If this was my truck, my list would go in this order:
Tint, exhaust system, suspension wheels and tires. Since your truck is paid off I’d splurge on a more quality suspension upgrade. Like Fox or Icon. But that’s just me.

I hadn't really thought about an exhaust system. It already has a pretty throaty sounds with the exhaust tip on it. What kind of system would put on it? A cat back?

I have the Toyota TRD Duel exhaust system and I’m really happy with it. Wanted to stay with a Toyota product. I hear good things about the above exhaust system mentioned.

you know you will want 35's so setup everything around it: 3/1 lift kit from King, Fox, Icon, ADS with aftermarket UCAs. BMC and some good wheels 17" or 18"s: RRW, Method, Icon.
Add good tires from BFG, Toyo, Nitto or Falken.

Welcome and greetings from Minnesota. Congrats on paying off your Tundra. Now to spend your money…. Tinted windows, in channel window vent shades, Desert Does It seat risers, and you might as well have it pin stripped (freehand painted on). Of course I’m making the assumption that you already have your truck protected with cat shields and paint protection film. Have fun!

I do need to get a cat shield put on when I get the lift installed.

Just watched a few videos of it installed. Love then sound, but seems to be conflicting info on if it drones or not. Do you have it and have noticed any droning?

Welcome from New Hampshire, and it is so nice to own the truck! I just paid my truck off in August.

That was gonna be my ‘adultey’ suggestion. Did my tint, tracracs, tailgate lock, and skid/cat plates first.
    Welcome

Congrats on paying it off! It’s a great feeling. If you were smart you would start investing the money from the truck payment into something now that you’re used to paying it every month. If that sounds too responsible, then…

My first major thing for my 21 Pro was my sound system. The JBL in the tundra just plain sucks. I love my music so got to have a awesome system. Also great feeling when your truck is paid for. Mine is also and just taking my time doing upgrades. To plan to lift it more with westcott lift which I have. And probably other wheels. And now I want the bigger audio screen so probably be adding that.

I would do a crhome delete(keep the grill just color match the buldge around it) tinted windows, a one to 1.5 inch lift with 33 in tires, ESP longbox underseat storage, regear to 4.88, 5.29 if you tow, upgrade lights to VLEDs, put in a FRAC or anytime camera, upgrade the JBL soundsystem, cat protection, tonneau cover, desert does it seatjackers and panels, and i think thats it off the top of my head. Oh if you give yourself a lift over 1.5/1.75 go for a 4in or higher, those come with all the components that make it run smoothly and a better ride. Unlike a 3in coil over suspension lift which is a hit or miss. Also get new bumpstops if you get a lift.

I’d use the money for gas to go do fun stuff in your pickup.

Any add ons I did would have to provide some functionality. For me that would be:

    Cat plates
    Suspension/lift
    Line X
    RCI skid
    Topper w/roof rack for canoe
    Brake controller
