So....it appears my DIY bypass for the AIP pumps has gone bad because the truck has been throwing P2440 for the past 2 days. Was good for over 2 years but has thrown the code 5 times in the past 2 days, putting the truck into limp mode and forcing me to pull over to clear it. Rather than muck with remaking / checking on my harness or go with the gen1 kit.....figured I’d rather just get the “better” kit for the truck which is now the full emulator kit. Fix it for good and with me towing a travel trailer and having my family in the truck, I don’t want to muck with it anymore. Instead of tricking the truck into not running the system due to temp sensor disconnect (same way the DIY does it), this gen2 kit emulates the AIP system and lets the truck “run the system” and it just tricks the truck to think the system is “all good”. Should arrive tomorrow afternoon and will be installing ASAP. Will update once installed.

I installed the gen2 kit a couple weeks ago after a P2440. So far so good.

I did have to pull the intake and modify the exhaust block off plates to fit up by the valves instead if down by the exhaust manifolds. The bolts down there were looking pretty angry. Pulling the intake was easy, but removing the valves to fit the plates involved some swearing.
