Cat’s got stolen last night. Truck won’t start and gas pours out from under the engine when you try to start it. Being towed to the dealer now. Any idea what they damaged to cause the gas to spill? 21 CM.

The probably hit a fuel line while in a hurry. The usually cut the 02 sensor wiring as well. Your truck will be waiting for parts for several months. You might as well get plates on order now.

    Sorry to hear that.

Contact your insurance company as well. You will need a front and rear plate. If 2wd, you will need the vertical plate as well.

Thanks guys. I was hoping it would be something simple like a fuel line. I’m sure it’s been discussed, but what’s everyone’s favorite for plates?

    That totally blows. Sorry man.

Tallon and Valhalla are the two vendors we recommend. Check out the vendor section.

I would not own a Toyota right now without cat plates. Plan on a 4 month wait time and I wouldn’t even consider aftermarket ones unless you enjoy CEL lights flashing.

This is not directed at you personally, but this comment comes up a lot and this is just a general statement. Please verify with your state laws. CO, the only time you can legally come outside and using lethal force: animals killing livestock, committing arson, or no question someone is causing severe bodily harm to someone else. Another point to consider while being a hero, the good guys don’t always win. Lately these thieves have had armed lookouts and dropping people.

Most cats are stolen in town or city streets/parking lots. I wouldn’t wanna risk my cats while at the grocery store.

For the shooting comment, I’m smarter than that to risk my virgin starfish or paying 100k+ to defend myself over 4 cats and then going to a pound it in your ass prison.

Now if you have a couple well trained dogs, maybe they had to go pee and needed outside….

Thieves don't care about location or weather when it comes to money. It's happening in parts of Europe as well. There was a video several months ago where a guy in Texas parked right next to a truck in broad daylight. He backed in. It was daylight, you could see his front plate, and he did it in his socks.....no shoes what so ever.

Fuel lines run under the driver's front floor pan.
They nicked mine when they stole my cats, the dealership replaced them.

Sorry to hear they got you..

Lethal force? I never claimed to be any sort of marksman. ;)

my original comment was meant as a joke. I thought it was absurd enough to warrant that interpretation, my bad. Back to the drawing board

    Sorry for your misfortune OP.

A lady's prius got hit in broad day light at the grocery store, she was parked right up front by all the windows. Nobody saw a thing.

    LED headlamps/fogs; interior footlamps.
Toyota saw this coming, could have at least engineered a better protected system. German cars/trucks don't have this problem, by design.
