    Removed lots of rust.
I have a 2007 Toyota Sequoia 4WD AT with 266,000 miles and I live in rusty northern NJ.

I am replacing the steering rack and power steering lines due to rust.

The Sequoia has the original power steering pump and it seems to be fine.

My question is, should I replace the power steering pump as a precaution?

I am planning on keeping the Sequoia for many more miles.
    RockAuto or Toyota part?
I have currently installed RockAuto parts

You posted in the wrong forum, but if it's anything like the 2000-2006 tundra those Toyota lines go for $400+. Aftermarket is more like $100-$150.

I'd go aftermarket unless you know a good hydraulic/pneumatic place that can make them for you. There are some discrepancies between aftermarket and the OEM on the fittings so, they don't fit into the rack perfectly.

Keeping the power steering pump shouldn't be an issue unless you run it dry and kill whatever life is left in it.

I made this slip-up a while ago with our resident Sequoia owner. Same platform as 1GT DC, basically, so it's valid here.

If you can get Denso or Aisin from RockAuto, go for it. There's a lot of input on the forum about rack replacement, very recent topics at that, regarding brands that seem to work fine. I personally wouldn't bother with the pump as precautionary, but that's just me. But the line point that Jack talks about is a real issue with some brands, which has bitten people in the ass. @bmf4069 is one of the guys who can give good input here.

I got the Detroit axle rack and sunsong lines from RA. No problems with either yet. I also got a new pump just in case, but it wasn't necessary. I'm not sure if the lines from RA would fit though. It says ext cab on all of them.

Are you saying you’re not sure if the sunsong lines would fit oem pump? My lines are weeping, rack starting to make a slight whine on hard cranks of wheel and was looking at the sunsong line you posted here.

They fit the pump, but I'm not sure if they work on DC trucks. Yours will be fine.

I’d you want to keep it, buy OEM Toyota parts (Aisin).

    Edit: ;)
