22Tundra TRD Pro motor oil

    I have 22 TRD Pro and have a good amount of Mobil 1 synthetic left over from my Ram it’s 0-40 can I use this or would it be bad for my motor?I always do 5k oil changes and 10k filter/oil.

    Manual calls for 0-20, where they allow 5-20 for occasional changes in certain conditions.
    I’d never run something not recommended- no way I’d want to explain that in case of an issue.

    It would have an increase of oil pressure until it warmed up and thinned oil out. I think I would shy away from it.

    Current RAM 1500 owner waiting for the new Tundra "hybrid."
    Remember, you have turbochargers. They tend to spin at high RPM, so you don't want your oil to be so thick, especially at cold start, that those expensive and hard-to-replace items are not properly lubricated.
    On my 2010 Tundra, the engine would rev to about 1500 RPM instantly at cold start. Don't know if the V6 engines in the new Tundras do that, but if you're going to use thicker oil than specified, don't go much thicker and let your engine idle for a few minutes after a cold start so the oil can warm up and thin out a bit.
    If you live where it gets cold and the Tundra sits outside, stay with the OEM specified oil viscosity.

    LED headlamps/fogs; interior footlamps.
    0-40 is not thicker and will pour the same as 0-20 in cold. The 2nd number is how well it stays together in higher heat, the lower number is how well is pours in cold, so clearly 0-40 is the same is 0-20 for Cold, now for hot, its even better, higher heat range. Besides its Mobil 1 synth.

    I dont think anything would happen but I also wouldnt run it on a brand new warrantied truck. Wouldn’t want to give them any reason to deny warranty coverage on something just because of the oil.

    on my older, out of warranty vehicles I do run different grades. 10W-30 in my Lexus and 5W-40 in my Ecoboost
