Trying to upgrade to a 2021 2WD SR5 Tundra and trading in a 2021 Tacoma (2.7L TSS package) I have on lease.

    Tundra: $43,864
    10,029 miles

With taxes and dealer fees the total is $50,408.

Trade-in: 2021 tacoma double cab SR with TSS upgrade package. they'll offer $28,000 trade allowance for it and Payoff the lease and taxes. The lease payoff is $31,402.
    Trade difference: $15,864
    Taxes are $2741
    Dealer doc $150
Non-tax fees (whatever those are) $250

I need to upgrade because I'm towing 5500-7000 pounds a couple times a month and soon almost daily for my job.

No way this truck should be $50,000. I figure I have flexibility on the price itself and the trade allowance on the tacoma. At 50k I might as well get an f250

Does the Tundra have the towing package and the 38 gallon tank?

If I was to sell my truck that would be my price or even higher. But I do not have any miles on mine and a whole lot of extras.:)

it is still a mixed up market out there! Good luck on your purchase.

Half ton trucks still commanding a premium it seems. I'd try getting a couple g's off for no 4wd

    $50k is a bargain. I wouldn't let my pre-pandemic built 2020 4x4 go for less than $100k.

Seriously, though, I agree. Truck prices are and have been ridiculous for a while. Is the one you're looking at a reasonable deal? Maybe, maybe not. Take a quick look around and see if you find anything better for less. If not, might as well pull the trigger since it sounds like more of a need than a want at this point. On the plus side, once you're done being pissed about the market/pricing, you'll be happy with the Tundra and it should serve you well for many years. Best of luck to you!

Looks like you have $3402 negative equity in the Taco. That brings the price up to $47,266 before $2,741 tax. That brings you up to $50,007 then $400 in fees.

The price of the truck isn’t bad, but the $3402 negative is hurting you.

For an F250 you’re still gonna have to pay the negative equity and tax. So if you can find one for the same $43,864 then yeah it’ll be $50K. But I imagine it will have a lot more miles. Haven’t kept up with 3/4 truck pricing.
