2019 TRD Pro. Got this truck with all intentions of making it an overland rig. I have no professional experience working on trucks or building out a rig but I’m learning as I go.

This weekend I change my battery set up from just using a solar panel on the roof connected to a Blueyeti 500 power station to using solar that is connected to solar charge controller, battery and inverter.

I determined running the solar cables through the roof was the best and cleanest option but also something that took a lot of thought. I drilled holes on the back portion of the cab a few inched inward form the frame. I used maritime cable glands to make the drill points water tight.

I am confident to say using the maritime cable glands is the best way to avoid water leaking (besides not drilling in the first place). I ran the cables behind the liner and panels. You would never notice that I drilled into the cab by looking from the inside. 319A1C6A-8B60-4D3C-8085-4F689BD3D026.jpg FCD7AB39-0C42-451D-8C86-56712874A3DB.jpg
I am planning on building a platform for a 100% rear seat delete, hence why my rear seats are out in the picture.

I also replaced the RCI bed rack for the Leitner bed rack. Very pleased with its quality compared to the RCI.

I got a lot done this weekend and hope to share more progress in the future. Thank you for having me.

Welcome and greetings from Minnesota. Way too much work for me… I would have just installed a yellow top battery with a battery isolator and a 2200 Honda generator. But I’m lazy and obviously you’re not. Good job.

Welcome from MN. I am in ID/MT for the next 2 weeks. Absolutely love your set-up. Have been trying to convince the SO to let me do the set-up you have right now.

Thanks dude, once the plan was set it only took about 1 1/2 hours. Definitely worth it. It will be powering my ICECO fridge which will be mounted in the seat delete once done.
