Paraffin? I'm assuming that's not going to be great during cold times. It takes paraffin a minute to liquefy even when emulsified, eh?

This is one of those cases where I'd say "stick with what works".

 

Changed the gear oil today on my bike at 63 miles. Other owners recommended this. The original oil already looked nasty. I replaced it with Liquid Molly 85W-90. It wasn't easy getting new oil back in. I need to buy a little pump.

 

Got any pics of the "diff Housing?" Curious on what it looks like... Congrats on the new bike BTW. Digging it?

 

Yeah I agree. I have more vinyl so I may change out a few pieces for bigger single pieces.

 

I didn't think to snap any pictures but I'll do another oil change soon and snap a few. It looks unusual. I had been warned the drain plugs are notorious for being tightened by a crack head. I had to bust out my breaker bar to open it. Given my history of breaking important parts, I was terrified.

The bike is a lot of fun though. It's surprisingly quick. The instant torque is new for me. I can see now that a Tesla is probably fun to drive, even if I don't want one.

Just got back from the I Prevail concert down in lubbock. Them and Peirce the Veil kicked ass. I didn't catch the two opening acts cause the lonestar amphitheater in lubbock is ran by absolute morons. I haven't been to a concert since I saw Papa Roach back in 2000.

Trinity of terror is coming on October 1st. May have to go to that too.

 

You can’t use a siphoning/gravity method to get it into the housing?

 

Hmm. Trying to envision how that would work. In the video I watched, a guy had little hand pump he squeezed which worked perfectly. I was planning to use my funnel and hose in the pic below but realized the hose piece is missing. I must have lost it when we moved last year.

This would have worked well I think.

 

That pic there is how I filled my front differential. Only need someone to watch it and insure you don’t overfill and spill it everywhere.

 

So the guy painting my girlfriends dads truck is looking for the driver side rocker panel. I know that @Tundra2 ordered (or was going to order maybe) rocker panels for his truck but that was for a RC truck. Those part numbers even show discontinued now. Wondering if anyone knew of anything or the best way to find a part number at the bare minimum. Here's the order from Tundra2 in the past. I figure the part numbers should be close. I'm going to do some more digging but figured I'd throw a post up on here.

Most gear oil companies now make the fluid come in bags with a top to make pouring it out in tight locations easier no?

 

Yes. The issue is that I had to measure what I was putting back in. Hard to know what 100ml is when squeezing a bag.

 

Ok guys I’m wondering if my issue with the heated seats not turning off with the truck is a ‘wrong relay’ issue. Can’t find the correct diagram for the OE heated seat relay though.

 

How do they work? Do they turn off at a particular temp or after a particular time?

 

I don’t think so. I think they are on till you turn them off. But even without the key in the ignition they can be turned on so I’d rather not have them stay on Battery.
Can anyone with factory heated seats tell me how theirs work?

 

My Lexus RX 330 heated seats shut off once they reach temperature.

 

That’s what I thought. Sounds like there’s a dead temp sensor that isn’t working.

 

All 3 of our Lexus had them and one of the Camry's... all off by temp... The 330 is an'04 and those seats will still warm you up on a Florida chilly morning...anything under 70 degrees

Love the idea, all about a straight six. Needs more displacement for the trucks and such though.

 

The days of displacement are probably over. It's all about the boost now. Smaller engines are more efficient at idle and cruise speeds. Boost when you need the power of a bigger motor. Not a fan myself (no pun intended).

 

Mmmm, all that poison ivy mixed in with english ivy and virginia creeper... looks like a blast.

I never reacted to poison ivy until I moved here and got into it really, really bad in my yard 20+ years ago. Bad to the point my forearms looked the way Popeye's does in the cartoons. Total mess.

I got the impression there was a relay issue. Normally for something like this, I'd expect you to have a 12v constant to the relay, then to the seat heater, with a separate 12v ACC coming off the switch to trip it open/closed. Throw the switch on, it energizes the relay, 12v constant opens the relay and feeds the heat pad. They may be using the heater switch as ground, to make a grounding leg. You'd need to look at the EWD for a DC truck or Sequoia, I think.

 

Of the 4 vehicles you have/had with heated seats, do the heaters still operate without the key in the ignition? That's his question.

I’m no electrician so not sure I can make sense of those pictures but I’ll try.

 

Cody there may be more with power supply routing and whatnot, I'll have to dig for that later. You can check quite a bit with this tho. Pins 1 & 2 on the relay are the coil pins that open and close the relay, so one side will go to ground, and the other will be the switch signal, fed from an ignition powered circuit. Sounds like you have constant power to the relay coil. Of course pins 3 and 4, one will be constant 12v (incoming from fuse) and the other- will be 12v (outgoing to heater) only when the relay coil is energized, in your case, thats all the time, which is no bueno. Hopefully that helps

That's his problem. His are staying on with the ignition turned off and key out
