Would it be acceptable to try it sans syrup? I don't use a ton on pancakes/waffles anyway, and I tend more toward savory flavors with meat.

 

Like I said, I've always found something that sounded amazing at those places. Pineapple on pizza is a 4 or 5 at best. I can eat it without complaining, but it is never my first choice. It sits just below a cheese pizza with anchovies.

 

I actually prefer chicken and waffles where the chicken isn't spicy. I had it one time where the "sauce" on the chicken was just gallons of Frank's and it was not good.

 

Veggie pizzas are awesome!

Does no one else get protein headaches or is it just me?

I get headaches for all kinds of stuff, but lack of protein isn't one of them. I was born with sharp teeth for a reason.

 

I tried to be veggie for a couple of days just to humor my wife cause she is and couldn’t cut it cause if the headaches.

 

Did smash burgers tonight, still haven't mastered it but they are getting better.

Can I ask: WTH is this obsession with a smashed burger? Why not form a nice patty, and cook it without crushing the juices out? I just don't get it. I must have never had a good "smash" burger.

 

It's juicy and crispy at the same time. Gotta try it!

 

The ones I've had have always been charred and dry. I have a heavy aversion to any char flavor, too. Grew up with an idiot step parent that thought he was a chef but couldn't cook anything but a ham to save his ass.

 

Makes my mouth water every time. The cheese the melts off the side of the burger and gets crispy on the griddle is delicious too!

So, for clarification, the step parent never did smash burgers, but he overcooked everything. The smash burgers I've had have all been from diners/restaurants. All have been dry/charred. Can only eat them if I douse them with fry sauce or have lots of mayo, but even then it's not very good. I generally go for chicken sandwiches instead of burgers. The fryer will beep and tell the idiot to pull it out, but a grill/griddle requires more than the ability to fog a mirror to get right.

 

But have you been to Smash Burgers?
