How difficult is it to remove the badges on this new Tundra? Want to take off the 4X4 and X series on the tailgate only. Last truck (F150) was super easy. Same with this one? Thanks!

Yes, it's just VHB tape holding it on. Pull slowly/evenly and they come right off. Use the fishing line trick if needed. Citrus oil to remove the residue.

I found it best to let the truck sit outside and get the badges warm or use a hair dryer. I over scrubbed with the Goof Off (citrus oil) and scratched the clear coat but it buffed out with no issues.

I would think it's very easy since my door badging peeled off on its own.

Got them off. 4X4 badge wasn't bad at all. I have the XP series so the tail gate has X Series on the tailgate. That thing was a pain.

What is something light that can remove the scratches from where I removed the badges? Trying to not have to buff and polish and all that. I goo goned the mess out of it, but adhesive isn't what's left over, it's some scratching from getting it all off.

One of the first things I do with any new vehicle. Neighbors think I'm crazy with taking them off within 30 minutes of getting home.

Something like this should take care of the small scratches. It's just a fill-in for the clearcoat. Most light scratches are just in the clear.

I do the same thing taking apart new vehicles. Might as well get as many miles as possible with it the way you want it. I pulled my new truck apart in my driveway with only 62 miles on it!

on my 2023 ice cap tundra.
-I heated with a hair dryer a few minutes.
-took off badges with fishing line, degunked with hands/friction.
    -then used goo gone citrus.
    https://www.lowes.com/pd/Goo-Gone-1...86K2QkGANBAcLaw3PxRoC96gQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

used a magic erase marker on the first sr5 symbol. it literally stripped the clear paint. it got that goo off great, then saw it stripped the clear in that spot only. not super noticeable, but noticeable if it's pointed out. ( so avoid heavy use of an magic eraser )

then used Goo gone and it did a good job letting it sit for about 3ish minutes. then wiping with a clean cloth. that did not strip any clear coat. the outlines of the tundra letters remained in a couple areas and I used the magic eraser just at those spots lightly and it pulled it off. and it looks really clean now

I recently did this and the adhesive eraser wheel made it crazy easy. No liquid adhesive remover was even necessary afterwards as it left nothing behind. No damage to the clear as long as you don't stay in one area too long. I hit it with a DA afterwards to remove the ghosting and apply sealant.

Just de badged mine, didn't use the Eraser wheel though it would have cut the time in half. Might use it tomorrow for the driver side.
Fishing line, finger friction, goo gone and plastic razor blade. Rubbing/buffing compound once everything was removed
