    My cats were stolen back in March. Finally picked up the truck from Toyota and just finished installing my CBI off-road skid plates.

    (I know, CBI doesn’t offer the skid plates for cat protection, however they do a fairly good job at deterrent, and are hefty plates that will help with skids.

    this is not my video, but it does show where it helps with cat theft, and fails. https://youtu.be/8ZyQJbDhZqk

    )

    CBI gave me some extra parts that threw me for a loop. 2 extra bolts that ended up with me watching their video a dozen times to make sure I wasn’t crazy and missed something. Got 4 3/8ths and 2 1/2 long bolts. The 4 3/8s were 4 and 4.5 inches respectively. The 2 4 inch were the ones not used that I could tell.

    the one thing I wish CBI would tell, is how to tighten the 1/2inch by 4.5 inch bolts that go through the frame. We spent some time trying to figure it out and finally decided a box wrench upside down, so the wrench was bending torwards the skid plate was the best way.

    I got them uncoated, because we’ll powder coat chips and is non repairable. I used 2000 high heat rustoluem rattle can paint in flat black to coat them.

    overall I am happy with CBI and excited about this purchase! Skid plates went on less than 6 hours after getting truck back from dealer for the cat repair.

    While waiting for cats to come in (6 months in total), my wife and I decided on a Leer 100xr top as well for the truck.

    thanks

    CBI plates are very beefy. We put a full set of CBI skids on the wife's 2020 4Runner. It was the best cat protection that we could find for it. No way in hell I was going with an unmentioned guys aluminum plate that looks tacky IMO. I'll post pics of the CBI's.

    That is awesome! There’s a 4Runner in my family as well, so I will send them a link to this forum to see those pics!

    Haven’t heard much about cats being stolen down in Miami but I put one on. I have the material to do the rear ones but damn is it hot down here. Plus laziness. Looks good.

    I have p0441 and p0455 after getting my truck back.

    I noticed this under the hood, does this look right? I don’t think it does.
